Built in 1915 as part of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium derives its name from the late impresario Bill Graham, who began the rock ‘n roll movement in San Francisco in the 1960s. The historic building has hosted a multitude of significant cultural events, including the Democratic National Convention in 1920, a speech from Martin Luther King Jr. to the NAACP in 1956, and served as the Golden State Warriors’ home court from 1964 to 1966. President Barack Obama was a guest of the venue both in 2007 and 2012 for campaign speeches, and the Dalai Lama offered two days of teachings in 2007. As the exclusive promoter, Another Planet Entertainment manages the building with respect to its rich history and keeps the venue active with hundreds of concerts and special events. The Mission Ballroom is a scalable, state-of-the art concert venue scheduled to open in summer 2019. The 60,000 square-foot ballroom anchors North Wynkoop, a new 14-acre mixed use project by Denver-developers Westfield Company, located at the north-end of the RiNo neighborhood.

The Mission Ballroom features a moving stage that provides flexible capacity from 2200 to 3950 guests, unrivaled sight lines via tiered rows, state-of-the-art sound and lights, and a large dance floor. Hollywood Palladium is a theater located at 6215 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California. It was built in a Streamline Moderne, Art Deco style and includes an 11,200 square foot (1040 m²) dance floor including a mezzanine and a floor level with room for up to 4,000 people. The theater was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

The Anthem is a music venue and auditorium under construction in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The Anthem is part of District Wharf, a comprehensive redevelopment of the Southwest Waterfront area.

The 57,000-square-foot venue, which cost $60 million (USD), will have a movable stage and backdrop that will allow capacity to vary from 2,500 to 6,000. Balconies will be closer to the stage than most venues, to offer the best views. The venue will be operated by I.M.P., which manages Washington's 9:30 Club and Lincoln Theatre as well as Maryland's Merriweather Post Pavilion.

The Armory was the most expensive building in Minnesota at one time. The building was designed by St.Paul architect P.C. Bettenburg, who was also a major in the Minnesota National Guard. From the late 1930s through the 1970s, it was a venue for civic events, including concerts, political conventions and sporting events.

The building was used by the Minneapolis Lakers as a part-time home between 1947–1959, and as its primary home court for the 1959–1960 NBA season.


In 1982, Minneapolis native Prince used the building to shoot the music video for “1999”. Sixteen years laters, Aerosmith recorded their music video for the song “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”.

Hennepin County bought the Armory in 1989 with plans to place a new county jail on the site. The Minnesota Historical Society sued and in 1993 the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that the structure was protected by state law and could not be torn down because of its historical status.

As of early 2017, the Minneapolis Armory is poised to make a triumphant return. The venue has returned to its roots - being the host to a number of social functions: concerts, sporting events, trade shows, and other private celebrations.

The Bowery Ballroom is a music venue in the Bowery section of Manhattan, New York City. The structure, at 6 Delancey Street, was built just before the Wall Street Crash in 1929. In 1998 it was converted into a music venue. It has a capacity of 575 people. There are no seats as the entire venue has standing areas only.

Another historic venue, this one in the center of the University Ave. business district in North Park, the Observatory was built in the 1920s and still features much of the classic art deco decor that has adorned the walls since it first opened. It was purchased in 2014, and its name was changed from the North Park Theatre, but the character of the classic theater remains. For starters, it's beautiful, and while it was a venue for opera and dramatic theater in its past life, its acoustics make it a surprisingly strong place to catch a touring rock or pop group. The ROXY THEATER was the best-known burlesque house in Cleveland. Its roots date from 1906, when Truman M. Swetland leased the property, located at 1882 E. 9th St., from Levi E. Meachum for 99 years. In 1907 the Family Theater opened at that location. A movie house by 1909, it was renamed the Orpheum Theater in 1913 and, following a 2-yr. shutdown, the Roxy in 1931. By 1933, under new owner Geo. Young, the Roxy became a nationally known burlesque house.

Throughout its heyday, the Roxy was a stop for entertainers such as Abbott & Costello, Phil Silvers, Red Buttons, Ann Corio, and later, Tempest Storm and Blaze Starr. The theater was remodeled in 1956 by new owners Frank Engel and Frank Bryan, and they brought their Eastern Burlesque circuit to Cleveland. From 1968 until its final closing and razing in 1977, the Roxy alternated between live entertainment and X-rated movies. The theater and property were sold in 1971 to Kope Realty for $150,000. In Sept. 1972 the lobby of the theater was bombed, but the Roxy reopened in Feb. 1973, showing X-rated films. Later that year, manager Tommy Flynn was arrested on obscenity charges for showing "Behind the Green Door." The Roxy closed permanently on 6 Nov. 1977. Although the theater was razed to make way for the Natl. City Ctr. (now PNC Bank), its name was perpetuated in the Roxy Bar & Grill, which has since closed.

Originally owned by Detroit area businessman and film house entrepreneur John H. Kunsky, the “Kunsky Royal Oak”, as it was known then, opened to a sold out audience in 1928. Lavishly decorated and superbly appointed, the art-deco movie palace quickly made its mark as one of Detroit's finest suburban theatres. In 1978, programming moved toward hosting live entertainment and the venue became known as the Royal Oak Music Theatre.

In 2004, Worldwide Entertainment rescued the theatre from relative obscurity and in 2007, after merging with the promotional giant AEG Presents, the Royal Oak Music Theatre became the Detroit area’s preeminent club-style, concert venue- attracting world-class musicians and performers such as: The Black Keys, Lady Gaga, Wilco, Eric Church, Ray LaMontagne, Fleet Foxes, The Decemberists, Aziz Ansari, Wiz Khalifa, The Pogues, Adele, Amy Schumer, Elvis Costello, Skrillex, Morrissey, Passion Pit, Louis CK, Sarah Silverman, Neutral Milk Hotel, Alabama Shakes, Alt-J, Zedd, A Day To Remember, Bastille and many more.

Everyone can now make music. The increasing access to music related technology and the liquid flow of music and information is a blessing to aspiring musicians, but a curse to those who have to sift through the terrible mash-ups and tunes in order to find quality music. Based out of New York City’s Lower East Side, The Knocks are taking a stand and reclaiming good music for all.

The Knocks - Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “Jpatt” Patterson - garnered their name from the early days of their production career when they tirelessly worked out of their home studios and complaining neighbors would knock on their doors. Coupled with DJing and making mixtapes, the pair cobbled together enough money to open their studio; HeavyRoc Music. Following the tried and tested route of classic New York producers of the past, the pair would head straight from the studio to the club with a new fresh jam to test on the crowd in their DJ sets.

They have since produced original material and remixes for Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Marina & the Diamonds, and now their own music. With heavy rotation on Australia’s Triple J, their single “Make It Better” was released on Neon Gold Records and their hit “Dancing With the DJ” was #1 on both the Hype Machine and Japan’s iTunes. The Knocks have been taking their energetic live dance party all over the world, including their sold out NYC Bowery Ballroom debut, Tammany Hall headlining show and their European tour with Sleigh Bells and M.I.A. They’ve shared the stage with acts like Big Boi, Chromeo, and now, their upcoming  U.S. tour with Ellie Goulding. Be prepared, because The Knocks will be knocking at your door and stereo very soon.
