Description
DVBBS
DVBBS, stylized in all caps and pronounced “dubs,” is a Canadian electronic dance music production and DJ duo formed in 2012, consisting of brothers Christopher van den Hoef and Alexandre van den Hoef. Hailing from Ontario, the duo began creating music in their early teens, initially exploring punk and pop before transitioning to electronic genres in the early 2010s, quickly rising in the global EDM scene through innovative tracks and electrifying live shows.
Their breakthrough came with the 2013 single “Tsunami,” a collaboration with Borgeous that became a festival staple, achieving gold certification in the UK, with the remix version later reaching platinum status. The track topped the UK Singles Chart, reached number three in Germany, and charted across multiple countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, and Switzerland.
Renowned for blending high-energy basslines with emotionally resonant melodies, DVBBS has headlined over 1,000 shows and festivals across more than 70 countries, earning multiple placements in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, including several Top 20 rankings, as well as the “One to Watch” award for their genre-blending sound.
In 2024, they expanded Kanary Records, originally launched in 2015, through a joint venture with Spinnin’ Records, focusing on publishing, multimedia, and fashion while signing emerging artists.
The label’s notable releases include the 2023 festival anthem “Breathe” featuring Jesse Jo Stark. In 2025, they released the chart-topping single “Move A Little Closer” featuring Abi Flynn, continuing to expand Kanary Records by signing emerging artists.
Based in Los Angeles, DVBBS continues to influence the EDM landscape with original productions that prioritize live performance impact and cultural resonance.
