Pijama Piyama
Pijama Piyama began in 2019 as an imaginary collective of desert degenerates known as "El
Grupo Afrutado". After a short period as a solo experimental project, Pijama Piyama transitionedinto a full ensemble with members; Jonathan Saillant, Pablo Bastidas, Jeanine Salmeron, MertSalahi, Ben Wise, Pedro Cortez and sometimes Jessie Demaree. Inspired by Cumbias, Salsa,Frank Zappa and the world of psychedelica, their music aims to capture a playful amalgamation that spawns a synergy—a cheeky collision of tangible past and pixelated present. The band’s diverse sonic palette and infectious energy has brought them success performing alongside local and touring acts such as Tropa Magica, Cimba Funk, Levitation Room, the Mauskavik Dance Band, Phoenix AfroBeat Orchestra and more. After two years of performingand releasing their first full album “Pijama Piyama y Los Niños De Rana, the group is excited toshare the release of the first Vinyl record titled “Pijama Piyama EXCLUSIVO”
Spaghetti Cumbia
Spaghetti Cumbia, Los Angeles' own high-octane Western Cumbia Rock outfit, has been captivating fans with their signature blend of traditional cumbia rhythms, rock, punk, and Western movie soundtrack influences since their 2016 formation. Founded by rhythm guitarist and vocalist Pedro Aguirre, the five piece band has honed their craft over the years, solidifying their lineup with the additions of co-frontman and percussionist Marcel Campos, lead guitaristBobby Guerrero, bassist Paulo Paredones, and drummer Adolfo Mercado Jr. Building on influences from Fito Olivares and Los Mirlos to Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and beyond, Spaghetti Cumbia has crafted a sound that is distinctly their own. As first and second-generation Angelenos, each member brings their own unique style, traditions, and art to the table, resulting in a musical melting pot that seamlessly blends Mexican heritage with rock-style instrumentation, emulating traditional cumbia sounds with guitars, processors, and unconventional elements like harmonicas and ankle shakers.
With a string of successful performances under their belt, including collaborations with Keith Warren of The Addicts and appearances at major events like the Brooklyn Cumbia Festival and"El Velorio" The Day of the Dead Experience, Spaghetti Cumbia’s momentum is now at an all-time high, as the band works towards recording their debut album and expanding their reachthrough touring, much to the delight of their diverse and growing fanbase.
