Description
A sophisticated, sensual, tailored Asian Restaurant and Lounge, Red Lantern will be like nothing Boston has seen before. Red Lantern’s concept was developed by Big Night Entertainment Group, which is responsible for numerous award-winning venues including Empire Asian Restaurant & Lounge and GEM Italian Kitchen Nightclub & Lounge in Boston, Shrine, Scorpion Bar at Foxwoods and High Rollers Luxury Lanes and Lounge at Foxwoods. Partners Ed Kane, Joe Kane, Randy Greenstein and Chef Kevin Long (Tosca, Stars, Shrine) created Red Lantern to fill a void in Boston dining and nightlife. With a seating capacity of almost 250 people, Red Lantern will feature an open kitchen, full sushi counter and custom wok station. Large, oversized tables, a custom community table and a private dining room that can accommodate 40 people. The space will be designed by award-winning designer Peter Niemitz, who hit it out of the park with Shrine at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods and Tosca in Hingham. Entering the space, the guest will be immediately transported to another world. Oversized custom wooden Asian doors lead right into a handsome foyer area. From there the guest can enter through 20? Asian Ceremonial Black-lacquered doors and enter the bar area or make their way into the dining room featuring an open kitchen. The bar itself is an attempt to create a mythical, sensual Asian experience. Hundreds of small red lanterns hang from the ceiling offset by strands of custom seashells from Vietnamese beaches. Tailored, custom settees, Asian seats and an oversized dining table with lamps set the mood. Wide plank wood flooring, custom carpet and a stone dining counter enhance the feel. But the open kitchen, complete with a custom, center wok station with its oversized gold-leafed ziggurat hood, and 6 seat sushi counter, is really the centerpiece of the room. A 40-seat private dining room with its custom apothecary wall, and fabric padded ceilings add a level of sophistication that will make it the place to throw a high end party.
