Lauren Spencer-Smith (born September 28, 2003) is a British-born Canadian singer-songwriter from Vancouver Island. She appeared as a contestant on the 18th season of American Idol in 2020, placing in the top 20 in the competition.

Her 2019 album Unplugged, Vol. 1 was a Juno Award nominee for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2020, but lost to Shine a Light by Bryan Adams.

In 2022, Spencer-Smith became more known internationally when her self-released song "Fingers Crossed" reached the top 20 in numerous countries, including the US and making the top 10 of the charts in numerous countries including Australia, New Zealand and Spencer-Smith's native United Kingdom. This was on the back of a demo of the song which had gone viral on TikTok. Spencer-Smith's rise to popularity and success on social media has sometimes been compared to that of American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo. She released her song "Flowers" in 2022 and it has charted in several countries.

The Showbox is a music venue in Seattle, Washington. It has been owned by AEG Live since 2007. It is located in Downtown Seattle and is a host of live music performances and other live events.

If you visited the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana a couple years ago, you would’ve been met by cover bands, one-hit wonders or closed doors. It had its moments, of course, but those moments were rare thanks to a lengthy closure and lackluster booking. Enter Jon Reiser, former partner and booker for Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. Reiser purchased the venue and made several significant changes: booked popular acts, upgraded the sound system, added a smaller venue-in-a-venue called the Constellation Room. The Observatory now hosts popular acts such as Method Man , GWAR, Tiesto, Waka Flocka Flame and many, many more. That also includes residencies from local acts. Selling out shows is now a habit for this place. Most of all, it provides a valuable service to the whole county by bringing in acts we could usually only see by driving to Los Angeles. Oh, and it even—gasp!—makes Angelenos cross the Orange Curtain for a show.

Now the nightclub August Hall (previously the well known Ruby Skye), the location originally built in the 1890s as a Victorian Playhouse by celebrated architect August Headman. At August Hall, patrons will find live music and entertainment with special events, three lively full bars, and superbly prepared food. The club is separated into three rooms. One of Hollywood's first legitimate theatres, the Henry Fonda Music Box Theatre experienced a variety of incarnations during the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's as part of an entertainment district of exceptional quality and diversity. Still keeping up with that reputation The Fonda Theatre re-opened, with a capacity of 1350, on March 17th, 2012 with a performance by FEED ME with Teeth.

The Fonda Theatre is an all-ages venue serving all genres of music and live performances. The Galvanizers is the newest addition to SWG3. A 6000sq ft clear span venue. Trading as Clydeside Galvanizers up until 2016 this recently refurbished venue has already played host to large corporate dinners, music festivals and an international graffiti festival ‘Yardworks’.

Since 1970 we have played host to amongst many others Nirvana, Blur, The Buzzcocks, Foo Fighters, The Sex Pistols, Coldplay and Radiohead, all in our 1100 capacity venue. These acts have helped lay the foundations for what is now one of Leeds’ best loved music venues.

In recent years we have been fortunate enough to have had through our doors a number of amazing acts including Foals, Interpol, Lower Than Atlantics and lots more. Our eclectic mix of music for students and non-students alike ensures that there’s never a quiet night at The Stage when bands are in town!

O2 Forum Kentish Town is a major live entertainment venue in London and one of the UK’s best preserved, original cinematic theatres.

It was originally built as an Art Deco cinema in 1934 by Herbert Yapp, a cinema magnate who also owned the Forum cinemas in Ealing and Fulham and the architect was J. Stanley Beard with interior design managed by his partner W.R. Bennett.

The venue launched with a grand opening ceremony of music and films, conducted by the star Sydney Howard, on 17 December 1934 and was taken over in March 1935 by Associated British Cinemas (ABC) along with the other Forum cinemas and changed renamed the ABC until 1963, 28 years later.

The ABC cinema closed in 1970 to become a bingo hall and then a dance hall and in the 1980s the venue's name and usage was changed to the Town & Country Club. It became one of the must-play venues on the indie circuit for up-and-coming bands as well as established acts. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, bands that played included The Velvet Underground and Pixies to Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine and The Wedding Present.

In recent years, O2 Forum Kentish Town has seen some legendary performers take to the stage including, Dave Grohl and Sound City players, Jack White, Rihanna, Bobby Womack, Justin Timberlake and KISS.

The O₂ Institute is a music venue located in Birmingham, England. The venue opened in 1908 as a mission of Carrs Lane Congregational Church. It has also served as an event centre, civic building and nightclub.

The O₂ Ritz is a live music venue on Whitworth Street West, Manchester, England. Built in 1927, it was designated a Grade II listed building in 1994. The venue is notable for its sprung dance floor. The Ritz was taken over by HMV in 2011 and given a £2 million refurbishment.

Another historic venue, this one in the center of the University Ave. business district in North Park, the Observatory was built in the 1920s and still features much of the classic art deco decor that has adorned the walls since it first opened. It was purchased in 2014, and its name was changed from the North Park Theatre, but the character of the classic theater remains. For starters, it's beautiful, and while it was a venue for opera and dramatic theater in its past life, its acoustics make it a surprisingly strong place to catch a touring rock or pop group. Even better, it's a spacious venue, supporting 1,100 concertgoers at a time with plenty of breathing room for everyone. The calendar at Observatory North Park is always full, whether it's showcasing alt-rock a-listers like Tame Impala or filmmaker and camp icon John Waters.

There have been several theatres named "Palais" in St Kilda, the first of which opened in 1914. At the end of World War I, the Palais de Danse, already on the current site, became Palais Pictures. In 1919, a steel-framed and arched truss structure was built over the old dance-hall which was relocated next door. The current Palais was built in 1927 and was part of a turn-of-the-century entertainment district.

The theatre was originally owned by the Phillips brothers (Leon, Herman and Harold), three American showmen from Spokane, Washington. In 1922, the brothers brought in the architect Walter Burley Griffin to design a remodeled Palais Pictures. Construction of Griffin's plans began in 1925, but a fire engulfed the stage in February of the following year, just before completion, bringing work to a halt. When Griffin moved on to Sydney, the developers commissioned a new architect, Henry E. White, to build a larger, more grand theatre.

When the last of the Phillips died in 1957, the Palais, the Palais de Danse and Luna Park were sold to local entrepreneurs in Melbourne. A brass plaque, still in place on the second level of the Palais, bears a tribute to Leon Phillips from members of the American community of Victoria. The theatre, which had operated primarily as a cinema until the 1950s, became increasingly popular as a live performance venue for top overseas stars such as Johnnie Ray, Bob Hope, the Rolling Stones, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and many others.

In the 1960s and 1970s, the theatre regularly presented ballet, including The Bolshoi, The Kirov, Stars of World Ballet and The Australian Ballet and opera including Joan Sutherland in The Merry Widow. 

As of April 2017 Live Nation Australia Venues has taken on the Palais Theatre’s operations and restoration works which will see it transformed over a 30 year period.
