Thanks to everyone who writes in. I do enjoy taking the time to write back to everyyone who makes the time to write to me, however recently i have just too many msgs of people i don't know asking me to send them music.

My music is available to purchase and if it isn't i am afraid myself like everyone else out there has to wait to buy it. And i do both. I wait and i buy it. You are no different, you are not special. I don't care where you are djing tonight - it's just not polite to ask someone you dont know these questions! In the end the best things in life are worth waiting for. Shoudl these msgs persist i would have to start ignoring you or even worse remove the msgs capabilities which i would rather not do!

“It’s the first day of the rest of your life” sings Brian Molko on the first single to Timo Maas’ second album Pictures. Sounds like the motto of this thirty-six-year-old DJ and producer – feet first in the moment and way ahead in his mind. For almost twenty-five years and during thousands of DJ-sets Timo Maas has turned energy into ecstasy, mixing a congenial and cohesive Dance-combination for the soundtrack to the perfect party – drawing on eclectic ingredients from Hip Hop to Alternative and R&B. Despite all that, Timo Maas feels he is more craftsman than alchemist, never resting on his laurels, and always re-inventing himself. Most importantly: He does not spin records, he more than anything creates his sound. Restless, untiring, worldwide. Preferably all night long, at least for four to five hours, more trip than trial – and in June 2006 even as the opening act for Depeche Mode in Warsaw. At the peak of the excitement, floor filled and audience screaming, Timo Maas will say something like: “I think I’ll really get them going in about twenty minutes or so.”

The look ahead and both ears to the ground have achieved a lot for this telecommunications-engineer from Hanover: From the local Discotheque in the Eighties to popular residencies in The End (“best venue“, Time Out Live Award, London), the new Pacha in New York and the DC 10 on Ibiza in 2006. From high-profile remixes and a proud Grammy-nomination to a whole lot of original productions, two artist-albums and his own label 99 Percent. “I approach every gig, every single set and everything I produce, as if they were my last”, says Timo Maas, whose name, by the way, is neither a pseudonym nor an acronym (even though “a Thousand Incredible Moments Of Music And Aural Sensations” would fit). “All of this is only possible, because I believe a hundred percent in what I’m doing. I love my job!”

This quality is evident at sunrise when Timo Maas is yet again the “last man standing” after eight hours behind the decks, but even more so when he gets back from deejaying in Toronto or Tokyo and locks himself in a studio on his farm with the vinyl-barn to record a new mix. That way the ecstasy of the night transforms once again into the energy of the DJ. And this in turn benefits all of his remixes and productions. Numerous singles, mixes and albums have made Timo Maas, always in collaboration with his sound-designer Martin Buttrich, a household name far beyond the dance-world. In the summer of 2006 the dream-team will reunite once again to start work on new material. They will also select and direct new productions for his label 99 Percent, which takes its name from an almost all-encompassing vinyl-release policy. “I love spinning vinyl, and I still do so most of the time”, says Timo Maas. “My label should definitely reflect that.” Another obsession the label and its strategy reflect is the ambitious curiosity of the simpatico sound-seeker –a quality which also manifests itself in the ever greater new tracks by his protégés Loco Dice and eighteen year old Daniel Taylor (M.O.R.D.) for other labels. “I love it, when I do not fulfil preconceived notions and expectations”, emphasises Timo Maas, “but rather exceed them.” In doing so, he stays true to another one of his maxims: expect the unexpected.

With a musical presence and maturity beyond their experience Audiojack are arguably one of the most talented and exciting electronic music acts to develop in recent years.

Signed to Ralph Lawson’s 20:20 Vision Recordings for their solo productions and forthcoming debut album and with remixes under their belt for labels such as Renaissance, CR2, Leftroom Limited and Lot 49, Audiojack have proved to have a unique ability to produce credible underground music whilst appealing to a wide enough audience to surpass the average sales and airplay of many of their peers.

Their music has gathered an enviable and varied list of international DJs who support their sound including Deep Dish, Paul Woolford, Lee Burridge, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, Timo Maas, Erol Alkan, Black Strobe, Luciano, Steve Lawler, Craig Richards, Meat Katie, Funk D’Void, King Unique and Adam Freeland to name but a few.

Their first original production ‘Robot’ released on Leftroom Limited has dominated leading DJs sets since release and sold over nine thousand vinyl and digital copies.

Debuting with such a big production meant a big follow up and when the guys were asked by Paul Woolford to remix his recent underground classic ‘Erotic Discourse’ they didn’t disappoint, creating another track which has seen massive global coverage with plays from most of the aforementioned artists and many more.

More recently their debut EP on 20:20 Vision featuring the tracks ‘White Noise’, ‘Coastline’ and ‘Quicksand’ has removed any ‘one trick pony’ doubts with all tracks receiving massive airplay from many of the worlds leading DJs and achieving status as one of 20:20 Vision’s best selling EP’s of 2006.

But it isn’t just their productions which are receiving such critical acclaim. Their ability to work as a team at the highest level is best seen in their live DJ performances. Having recently undertaken a 20 date UK tour along with appearances in China, Russia and Latvia, Audiojack have wowed crowds with a unique blend of their own current and forthcoming productions along with those of other artists who fit in with their distinctive and original sound.

So much so did Audiojack impress on their debut at the legendary Back to Basics event in England that promoter Dave Beer asked them back to headline the special New Years Eve event in their home town, Leeds. An amazing achievement considering Back to Basics’ reputation as one of the world’s most desirable events for any electronic music act to perform at.

Alongside releasing original productions on 20:20 Vision, Audiojack are in the process of establishing their own label U.F.O (Underground Frequency Organisation). U.F.O is set to act not only as a second stable to release their own material but also for other artists who compliment the labels sound.

With several remixes, original productions and their album along with a lot more international touring all in planning for 2007 it looks like this will be the year when Audiojack confirm their place as one of the most consistent and successful electronic music acts around today.

Ali and Basti Schwarz – brothers and music lovers, created Tiefschwarz out of a passion garnered since 1990 from their first experiences as DJs at the now legendary clubs that Ali ran in Stuttgart "ON -U" (1990 – 1993) and "Red Dog" (1993 – 1997). These experiences and their obsession with the music they were hearing from within and across the German border, encouraged them to make the step from DJ to producer.

In 1996 Tiefschwarz was created and they began working together with acclaimed producer Peter Hoff in Stuttgart. After a few remixes, their first single "Music" was released in 1998 on Benztown and "Wave Music" NY. The success of the single motivated Tiefschwarz to record their debut album "Ral 9005" which came out on Four Music in 2000. "Ral 9005" was then seized upon by Derrick Carter & Luke Solomon for their Classic Recordings label in the UK in 2002. The album and the subsequent 4 singles (Thru a Little Window, Hello Again, Never, Nix) were received enthusiastically by both the English and international press, not to mention a growing fan base of music aficionados.

In 2002 Classic also released Ali & Basti’s mix album "A Little Help For Your Friends" and their DJing career reached new heights with tours in Australia, USA as well as gigs as far afield as Brazil and Russia. They have residencies at Robert Johnson in Frankfurt, Weekend Club in Berlin and Fabric in London.

2003 saw the brothers up sticks and move to the creative capital of Berlin where they set up a new studio along with new producer & friend Jochen Schmalbach. Continuing their burgeoning career as remixers (with previous greats such as their reworks of Masters at Work, Ultra Naté, Boogie Solitaire, Freaks, Isolee, Groove Armada) Ali and Basti have more recently remixed the likes of The Rapture, Cassius, Spektrum, Micatone, Lost & Alive, Lopazz, Osunlade, Minimal Compact, Trüby Trio, DJ Hell, Kelis, and Missy Elliott.

Their last single on Classic "Nix” was the grand finale to a very special relationship and from there they joined and helped create ‘Fine Records’ in London (a division of Four Music, their label in Germany). The first single was ‘Ghost Track’ accompanied by a Black Strobe remix followed by their fantastic ‘Misch Masch’ album which not only showcased their talent as DJs but also their remixing prowess on a double CD release.

The majority of 2004 and 2005 was spent juggling a high profile DJing career, whilst writing and producing their second and long awaited album ‘Eat Books’. The first single from the album ‘Isst was released in 2005 and was voted one of the best singles of the year by Trax and DJ magazine. After that came ‘Wait and See’ with vocals by Chikinki, Morning Siren’ with vocals by Matt B.Safer from the Rapture followed by ‘Fly’ with a Steve Bug remix and then ‘Damage’ with Tracey Thorn and accompanied by a brilliant Mandy remix.

2006 has been a big year for remixes, amongst other things. Three high profile remixes of Depeche Mode ‘John The Revelator’, Madonna’s ‘Get Together’ and Roxy Music’s ‘Rain Rain Rain’ are soon to be followed by Booka Shade’s ‘Darko’ and Soft Cell’s ‘Memorabilia’. Additionally, they released 2 mix albums – one for the outstanding Fabric series and the other in conjunction with the Time Warp festival in Germany.

2006 is also the year that Tiefschwarz began their own label – SOUVENIR. A project that Ali & Basti have excitedly planned for years has finally taken off and is committed to release some of the best new dance music we have heard for years. The first being a Tiefschwarz track called ‘Hey’, under their different moniker of ‘Ichundu’ which has prompted fellow DJs and the press to conclude that Tiefschwarz are once again at the top of their league. Located deep within the circuitry of a mechanical alien host known as Maetrik you will find a complex web of synaptic dispersements resembling what could be called a soul. And this soul which drives it's host and manipulates it's every move is finally beginning to emerge. Its name is Maceo Plex. The emergence of such an entity has been the result of a need for feeling, a need for interplanetary funk. We as humans consider this need a feeling, a feeling rooted in emotion, and emotion being the very basis of humanity.

Maceo Plex is on a quest to fullfil his need to inject feeling and funk into the world, and he's already proving to be quite productive. With deep and funky works of audible engineering for the label Crosstown Rebels in the form of a full length album titled "Life Index", a night with Maceo Plex will be one of galactic proportions.

To explain the evolutionary process behind Maceo's existance we must travel back to 1993, to the beginning of his creativity. At the start...Maceo was intrigued by a pair of circular shaped objects designed for holding discs created from vinyl that produced vibrations resulting in sound and music. Soon he began conjuring up mixxes of techno, electro, and house music that quickly gained him popularity within the early 90s rave culture. But in 1997, while Heavily influenced by the sounds of other modern funk theorists such as Model 500, Kenny Larkin, Idjut Boyz, Convextion, etc... Maceo began experimenting with hardware modules containing knobs and keys to form his early musical compositions. Seduced by the sounds of techno & electro, Maceo grew into a technologically advanced being later to be known by various names such as Mariel Ito or Maetrik.

After many years of prolific works on such labels as Treibstoff, Dumb Unit, Cocoon, Audiomatique, Modern Love, Mothership, to name a few...Maceo aka Maetrik travelled the world playing in some of the best clubs such as Rex, Cocoon, Fabric, Womb, etc... Now in 2010 Maceo has begun to strip back some of his robotic body armor known as Maetrik in order to expose a more musical and groove based side the world has not seen yet.

The profound change has taken Maceo Plex from the complex and dark life in America to his current homebase of Valencia, Spain. The sunny and relaxed atmosphere has been quite useful to Maceo in his lengthy inward journey that is very apparent in his music. After a much needed retreat into the funky sounds of Parliament Funkadelic, Moodymann, Atjazz, Isolee, and Luomo, Maceo has finally completed his transormation and is shining brighter than the star Siriusand his newest musical output reflects his radiation in a variety of beautiful colors. In late 2010, Maceo's single "Vibe Your Love" will finally be released on the very foward thinking label Crosstown Rebels and will include a hefty funk remix treatment by Zev of the Wolf & Lamb clang. Soon following will be the full length debut album aptly titled "Life Index" which chronicles Maceo's life long transformation into the soulful ball of energy he is today.

Once experienced, the album will make it abundantly clear the level of versatility Maceo Plex posesses among his many auditory shells. And the world will understand Maceo's pristine vision of house music from beyond.
