The 7th St Entry is a smaller venue (capacity 250) attached to the historic First Avenue. This space was once used as a restaurant area (the “Greyhound Cafe”) in the bus station, before it became the music venue that is known today as “The Entry” among the locals. “The Entry” opened its doors in March 1980 (under club Sam’s) as a venue that catered to local bands.

Now the nightclub August Hall (previously the well known Ruby Skye), the location originally built in the 1890s as a Victorian Playhouse by celebrated architect August Headman. At August Hall, patrons will find live music and entertainment with special events, three lively full bars, and superbly prepared food. The club is separated into three rooms. The distinct separations between the rooms create the Music Hall, with sprawling its 32-foot ceilings, 100 year old architecture, and new drapery outlining its historic stained glass windows, the Green Room which is a plush cocktail room serves as a luxe escape from the energy of The Music Hall, and the Fifth Arrow which A cocktail, dining and gaming parlor (complete with three bowling lanes) located downstairs from the August Hall lobby. August Hall has been built to be a flexible, multidisciplinary event space with a design that pays homage to the great history of the building.

We opened in October 2005.  This was my first foray into club ownership, after having booked other people’s rooms for the 8 years prior.  And even though it was in Colorado Springs, 100 miles from my home, I knew it was the right place.  I had a couple partners at the time, and it was good to have the help given the distance from home.  Time went on, and the partners moved onto other things leaving me as the sole owner.  This was ok, because by this point, I had a great staff there running the place.  The list of artists that have played the Black Sheep is as enormous as it is impressive.   This tiny 450 cap room has played host to the likes of everyone from Imagine Dragons to Daughtry, to Gwar, to Macklemore, and the list goes on and on.  The Sheep has always been a special place.  We just celebrated our 10th anniversary which unfortunately coincided with the untimely and tragic death of our longest tenured employee Chris Forsythe.  Chris was our sound man and head of production.  He was the heart of the Black Sheep and the place will never be the same without him.  But, as I said, the Sheep is a special place.  We have a great staff and our guests that come to the shows consider the Sheep their home.  This was clearly evident during the memorial for Chris.  I have never seen the Sheep so packed.  There were so many people in the venue they were spilling out into the parking lot.  This was not only a testament to the impact that Chris had on so many people, but the impact that the Black Sheep has had on the city of Colorado Springs.  The Black Sheep is an important thread in the fabric of Colorado Springs and we are proud to be able to do what we do there.  The Black Sheep has been voted “Best Live Music Venue” in Colorado Springs every year since we’ve been open.  I think we’re doing something right.  The Black Sheep is moving into a new chapter.  We have some big plans and we will be there for many years to come.  We look forward to creating more memories for all the fans that flock to the Sheep.

Canal Club

The Catalyst is a nightclub located at 1011 Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz, California. The club has hosted big-name artists such as The Beach Boys, Neil Young, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Iggy Pop and Nirvana. The Catalyst moved to its current location in 1973. The El Rey Theatre is an original art deco theater in the heart of the Miracle Mile, one of Los Angeles' preserved art deco districts. The El Rey was built in 1936 and designed by Clifford Balch. After over 50 years as a first run movie house, the El Rey was converted into a live music venue in 1994. Drake is making History. He's teamed up with Live Nation to launch a venue called History that will open in Toronto later this year.

The venue will have a capacity of 2,500 and will host around 200 shows and events per year. It's in the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto's east end at 1663 Queen Street East. By Drake's arena-sized standards, this is a "smaller room."

He said in a statement, "Some of my most memorable shows were playing smaller rooms like History. I wanted to take those memories and what I learned to create an incredible experience for both the artists and the fans."

History has been in the works for more than three years. Construction is scheduled to wrap up later this summer. An announcement states, "History includes a convertible general admission area and reserved seating configurations for all types of events — from concerts, live entertainment and galas to community programs and events.

The venue’s stages have played host to a list of artists which reads like a dessert menu of alternative music royalty.  Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden and Fugazi once graced the same stages that are today occupied by Odesza, Death Grips, Future, In This Moment, Little Dragon, Taking Back Sunday and countless other amazingly popular and influential bands.

Its live music mostly consists of alternative music styles, such as indie rock, metal, punk rock, rockabilly, and electronic, ranging from local acts to ones internationally known. The Masquerade's three principal interior stages are named after the destinations of the afterlife: Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell — though they are now all on the same level with separate entrances. At the mill, Heaven was upstairs above Hell at the right (west) side of the building, with Purgatory as the bar area downstairs to the left, all accessed from a central entryway behind the box office with a stairway to Heaven.

The ROXY THEATER was the best-known burlesque house in Cleveland. Its roots date from 1906, when Truman M. Swetland leased the property, located at 1882 E. 9th St., from Levi E. Meachum for 99 years. In 1907 the Family Theater opened at that location. A movie house by 1909, it was renamed the Orpheum Theater in 1913 and, following a 2-yr. shutdown, the Roxy in 1931. By 1933, under new owner Geo. Young, the Roxy became a nationally known burlesque house.

Throughout its heyday, the Roxy was a stop for entertainers such as Abbott & Costello, Phil Silvers, Red Buttons, Ann Corio, and later, Tempest Storm and Blaze Starr. The theater was remodeled in 1956 by new owners Frank Engel and Frank Bryan, and they brought their Eastern Burlesque circuit to Cleveland. From 1968 until its final closing and razing in 1977, the Roxy alternated between live entertainment and X-rated movies. The theater and property were sold in 1971 to Kope Realty for $150,000. In Sept. 1972 the lobby of the theater was bombed, but the Roxy reopened in Feb. 1973, showing X-rated films. Later that year, manager Tommy Flynn was arrested on obscenity charges for showing "Behind the Green Door." The Roxy closed permanently on 6 Nov. 1977. Although the theater was razed to make way for the Natl. City Ctr. (now PNC Bank), its name was perpetuated in the Roxy Bar & Grill, which has since closed.

Two of the biggest and most iconic music venues in Deep Ellum will reopen under a new name. The Bomb Factory and its neighboring venue Canton Hall have been rebranded as The Factory in Deep Ellum and The Studio at the Factory, according to new websites and social media accounts for the new venue.

The phone number and email address for The Bomb Factory have also been delisted, indicating the change for the historic venue is already underway.

Resurrected Velvet Underground club will be reopening as a live music venue in February.

Local entertainment group Embrace Presents has taken over the Queen West venue, which closed in September, and plans to open the revived space early in the new year.

“We heard the Velvet was closing, so we immediately reached out as we had always been huge fans of the venue,” says Embrace’s CEO, Adam Gill.

Embrace has already started to revamp it to focus solely on live music. “We plan is to modernize it and we are doing a big renovation as we speak,” Gill says, “The main difference will be that its focus will be on live music as a concert venue where before it was more a club for goth or industrial music.”

The space, which has been a go-to place for rock, new-wave and metal, was dissolved by Liberty Entertainment Group back in September. According to a press release, the Liberty was shifting gears to focus on expanding a repertoire of wine bars and clubs.

Considered a musical institution by many, the intimate venue has featured an impressive roster of Canadian artists, including Alanis Morissette, who celebrated her chart-topping album release party of Jagged Little Pill there in 1995.

Embrace has announced their official reopening party will take place on February 12, with Toronto’s own dystopian-pop group, TRUST to ring in the comeback of the space.

“We had thought it would be an amazing live venue for a few years now,” say Gill. “Since the Bigbop/reverb closed there has been a void left in the market and we plan to help bring live music back to Queen Street.”

The world took notice, with San Holo growing to over 180.000 SoundCloud followers within the span of a year. His single 'We Rise' peaked came out on NestHQ (OWSLA) garnering Skrillex and Diplo's support and amassing millions of plays on SoundCloud and Spotify.

Early 2015, the Victory EP came out on the Canadian label Monstercat, renowned for having one of the most engaged and digitally oriented audiences. The release was paired with an intense visual campaign produced by San's own creative company and label bitbird.

Together with an official remix for Tchami's hit 'After Life', an Initiation Mix on BBC Radio One with Annie Nightengale and performing at the Belgium mega-festival Tomorrowland, the transition from the SoundCloud realm into real industry significance was made. Meanwhile, the 'Dr. Dre - The Next Episode' remix crossed the 40 million plays on YouTube and the 'Don't Touch The Classics' remix series is going strong.

San not being one to stay within boxes, his new single IMISSU is forthcoming on Spinnin Records, in a self-proclaimed effort to both push boundaries and bring the 'future' sound to the masses. His diversity is broad and the accompanying music video that takes place 'within the screen of the producer' is testament to that.

All this, together with a CSI synch, a forthcoming official remix for Porter Robinson, the quickly growing self-operated label bitbird, and tours in North America, Europe and Australia make San Holo perhaps the biggest 'one to watch' in 2015's electronic music scene.
