Austin's premier indie record label - Nine Mile Records - is turning 20 this year! To celebrate, the label has reconvened one of it's most popular bands, the Austin supergroup Glorietta! Glorietta started on a songwriting retreat hosted by Matt Vasquez (Delta Spirit, Middle Brother) in Glorieta, NM in 2018. Friends came and went, polishing old songs, co-writing new ones, and recording a couple dozen on the spot. The resulting 2019 album and tour featured appearances at Newport Folk Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Pickathon, and dozens of sold out clubs across the country. The main core of Glorietta became Vasquez, Kelsey Wilson (Wild Child, Sir Woman), David Ramirez, Jason Blum, Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas) and Noah Gundersen. Guests on the album included Nathaniel Rateliff and Steve Berlin (Los Lobos) among others. Nine Mile Records started in Boston, MA in 2006. After re-locating to Austin in 2009, the label has garnered many awards (including 4 Best of Austin awards) and released albums by artists as diverse as Shinyribs, Sweet Spirit, Sir Woman, David Wax Museum, Patrick Sweany, and compilations featuring Jackson Browne, Fiona Apple, Ben Kweller, J. Mascis, and many more.
