The band formed in 2023 after vocalist/guitarist Caleb Molina lost his father, a lifelong musician who became his greatest inspiration. Completed by vocalist Hunter Wilson, drummer Mason Zschau, guitarist Mason Nowlin, and bassist Rivers Shutt, the band channels Molina’s grief into a celebration of his father’s life. Originally known as Sinema, they released After The Flatline in 2023 and Fear Of The Fall in 2024, developing an emotionally charged blend of screamo, Midwest emo, and post-hardcore influenced by the late ’90s and early 2000s but filtered through a distinctly modern, post-internet perspective. Their growing momentum has led to performances alongside Deafheaven, Harm’s Way, February, Midrift, and others. Now known as I Promised The World, the band’s self-titled EP represents a period of transition, growth, and renewed purpose.
