About Slothrust
Website | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube | Spotify | Apple Music
Slothrust is the brainchild of singer/guitarist Leah Wellbaum and drummer Will Gorin — a duo approaching a decade since their fiercely innovative debut Of Course You Do. The band first bonded over a shared love of blues and jazz and have since continued to create rock the way they know best, moving it forward with an expansive and unconventional lean.
Since their debut, Slothrust have supported acts like Manchester Orchestra, Front Bottoms, and Highly Suspect and built a large touring audience for their visceral live performances. For five seasons, their track “7:30 AM” was featured as the theme song for FX Series “You’re the Worst.” In 2021 the band released their four record Parallel Timeline, a cosmic, emotionally charged EP that dug deep into questions of identity, time, and perception.
In 2023, Slothrust surprised fans with a bold, slow-burning cover of Ginuwine’s “Pony,” reimagining the ’90s R&B classic through a smoky, rock-laced lens. Equal parts sexy, strange, and groovy, the cover signaled a new chapter — one rooted in experimentation and unexpected collisions of genre.
That journey continues with their newest single “Wild Card,” a standalone release produced with Willy Beaman, who’s worked with the likes of Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, and Sky Ferreira. Leaning deeper into an R&B-rock hybrid, the track is hypnotic, pairing slinky summertime grooves with heavy low-end and Wellbaum’s signature vocal magnetism.
About The Velveteers
Website | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube | Spotify | Apple Music
The Velveteers are a Boulder, Colorado trio whose sound blends punk attitude, classic metal power, and glam-rock swagger into a bold and emotionally charged rock experience. Formed as teenagers by singer/guitarist Demi Demitro and drummer Baby Pottersmith, the band has spent more than a decade developing a creative partnership built on trust, experimentation, and a shared passion for making music. Their second album, A Million Knives, explores heartbreak, self-discovery, and the challenges of navigating adulthood and the music industry while holding onto the curiosity and joy that first inspired them to create. Featuring inventive arrangements and standout tracks like “Bound In Leather,” “Go Fly Away,” “Up Here,” and “Fix Me,” the album pushes the band’s sound into exciting new territory while retaining its raw emotional honesty.
The addition of multi-instrumentalist Jonny Figg completed the lineup and helped shape the group’s distinctive two-drumkit attack. Recorded with producer Dan Auerbach at Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, A Million Knives captures the spontaneity and urgency of the band’s original demos while embracing new creative possibilities, including collaboration with both members of The Black Keys on the single “Go Fly Away.” Despite the emotional and creative challenges behind the record, The Velveteers emerged stronger than ever, reaffirming the bond that has driven them since their earliest days and creating an album that celebrates resilience, artistic growth, and the enduring power of making music together.
