Pushing musical surrealism to its limits with outrageous harmonies, circus-fast riffs, and a genre-defying mishmash, they have been described as oblique, colorful madness—like running fast while looking at the ground. With a shared love for acts like Deerhoof and Ween, Jas, Emmalee, and Eli began Gumby’s Junk one balmy summer in Oakland, California. An assortment of DIY generator shows, art parties, and a performance in the back of a U-Haul rental led to their 2022 debut release, Apple House.
