CHANCHA VIA CIRCUITO: Argentinian producer Pedro Canale has been working on Chancha Vía Circuito, a musical project that has allowed him to travel the world and put his mark on what is now known as latin-american electronic music, since 2006. His catchy sound transformed him into a notable reference for a new generation of artists.
Cruzloma: Hailing from Quito, Ecuador, Cruzloma was originally a collective of various artists, formed in 2014 to explore the sound possibilities of fusing traditional music with contemporary electronic beats. After several years and changes of perspective, in 2018 Felipe Romo and Sergio Castro decided to consolidate the project as a duo. Before their explorations with Cruzloma, Felipe and Sergio had been making music together for twelve years, playing in reggae and dub bands and their stoner rock band Fat Chancho, who released just the one eponymous record in 2020. But the call to fuse elements closer to their roots was stronger, and living in a city like Quito, loaded with so much syncretism and symbology, led them to form this duo to breathe life into a project which, in their own words, is “ceremonial electronic music that brings together the thoughts of legends and myths of creation.”
Esotérica Tropical: is a queer Boricua bruja who transcends musical boundaries with her commanding voice, intuitive folk harp, and a fusion of Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba rhythms and electronic innovation. Her work boldly challenges colonial mentality, advocating for sovereignty and surrealism. Singer-songwriter María José Montijo, creator of Esotérica Tropical, draws inspiration from over 20 years of experience as a healer –including tai-chi and qi-gong practice, daoist cosmology, meditation, studying bodywork, and practicing traditional medicine and acupuncture. Her music is rooted in a continuous process of discovery and care, where trauma is transformed into art.
