Description
Ethio-funk masters Black Jesus Experience join forces with proud Kuku Nyunkal man and master yiki yiki (didjeridu) player Sean Ryan to perform grooving meditations on land, life and spirit.
With a legacy of acclaimed albums and global tours, including collaborations with Ethio jazz legend Mulatu Astatke and appearances at major festivals such as Glastonbury, WOMADelaide, Big Day Out, Golden Plains and Strawberry Fields, BJX is an irresistibly danceable ten-piece explosion of deep Ethiopian truth, hip-hop poetics and future funk.
Sean Ryan’s powerfully rhythmic approach to the yiki yiki brings a profound new dimension to BJX’s sound — traversing deep tone-conversations, poetic extrapolations and grooving meditations that are both ancient and futuristic, grounded and ecstatic.
Don’t miss this rare and resonant meeting of musical worlds.
