Description
Blasha & Allatt land at BASEMENT for the first time. Over many years of hard work the duo has achieved an esteemed reputation, both in their hometown of Manchester and across the European scene and global underground. As the co-founders of their Meat Free party series, Blasha & Allatt are responsible for some of the wildest raves going today; these are parties that are spoken of in breathless tones, with the residents at the center of the maelstrom. More recently, they’ve become residents at Vault Sessions as well. The renowned Amsterdam series is one of the defining tastemakers of the last few years, and Blasha & Allatt’s fiery, timeless techno is in perfect stride with the collective’s ethos. Barreling, raw and incendiary; this duo is set to bring it with unerring impunity. Fellow Amsterdam standout Sandrien is back in BASEMENT, ready to dole out exquisite techno with blinding technical precision and alchemical mystery. A former resident of beloved techno institution De School, Sandrien’s hypnotic style defies the standard and takes the audience deep into a truly psychedelic realm. Coursing atop a substrate of rippling, elemental textures, Sandrien amplifies the most gripping and transformative qualities of the genre. Devoye makes his return to the room. An artist defined by his low-slung cool, Devoye imbues his techno sets with immaculate style and swagger.
Chez Damier makes his debut at STUDIO. One of the pioneers of house, Damier put in time in Chicago, Detroit and New York, developing a sound that cross pollinated the best of all three hubs. His 1992 anthem “Can You Feel It” (not to be mistaken with the Mr. Fingers song of the same name) could be in the dictionary next to “deep.” The M1 organs, clipped vocal chops and unrelenting bass groove land in that indelible sweet spot, where the propulsive meets the subliminal. Damier’s mastery of this meditative, jazzy pocket has been a cornerstone for generations of producers, DJs and dancers who, in moments of frenetic movement, seek a space of pure, intuitive stillness that touches the eternal. Donis returns. His most recent release in the “Metamorphosis” series is a triumph of soulful house. Going beyond the vibey signifiers that so often dilute the genre, Donis draws on a rich emotional nuance. Layers of grief, joy, frustration and resilience are intricately woven into these deceptively simple tracks. Listening to Donis, you’re reminded how healing and vital house music can really be. NY’s Haruka seals the deal with a dose of freak energy. A singular voice whose work can’t be contained by the typical parameters, Haruka brings a welcome freshness every time.
