Tijuana Cartel are launching their latest release - a trippy, genre-defying opus that melds organic house and tech with a kaleidoscope of sonic textures, world beats and flamenco guitar.
Tijuana Cartel - The Beautiful Nonsense Machine Tour supported by and Temple Step and The Oddness
In a season saturated with cookie-cutter beats and recycled rhythms, Tijuana Cartel's 'Ish and The Beautiful Nonsense Machine' emerges as a breath of fresh, psychedelic air. The new release is a trippy, genre-defying opus that melds organic house and tech with a kaleidoscope of sonic textures. Tijuana Cartel, known for their fearless exploration of sound, delivers an E.P that dances on the edge of reality and fantasy.
'Ish and The Beautiful Nonsense Machine' is a labyrinth of musical experimentation, where classical and flamenco guitar riffs intertwine with pulsating electronic beats, creating a hypnotic tapestry that's as unpredictable as captivating. This latest project builds on the band's previous triumphs, including the acclaimed ‘The Epic of Ish’, but ventures further into the unknown. Each track is a journey, inviting listeners to lose themselves in a swirl of vibrant melodies and intricate rhythms.
Temple Step
At the intersection of unified culture, ancient soul and electronic mastery, resides the multi-genre fusions of Temple Step - a style and statement of music revered for igniting dance floors, hearts and transcendental shifts.
Music Producer, Benjamin Last, is defined by the mark of a maverick in the pursuit of creating extraordinary music that stands for oneness, passion and transformation. For over 27 years, Temple Step has literally brought global culture to the people, bringing sets, ceremony and with them, awakening to Live Performances, Ecstatic Dance and Sound Healings.
His prolific career in studio production and stage performance has forged pioneering explorations into tribal-ethno-electronic flavors. As a Producer, DJ and Sound Healer, he draws from an instrumental spread of beats, percussions, ethnic melodic instruments, synths, vocals and bold use of bass. Seamlessly, worlds are blended and timelines merge, all through the language of his music. The artist insists on sound as sacred; a vibrational, alchemical tool. With it, he evokes states and feelings that invite audiences to embrace full creative expression.
The Oddness
Huge bass lines, tribal drums and infectious grooves are the building blocks of the Melbourne producer and performers' signature sound. Sitting at the forefront of the Downtempo / Organic house scene in Australia, the last 4 years have seen him perform at Australia’s premium festivals, including Rainbow Serpent, Elements and Esoteric, both as a solo act and with his 3-piece band including multi-instrumentalists Dylan Jarrad and Timmus.
A prolific output of music, including three Albums, have been released through labels including Sol Selectas, Beat & Path, Eskimo Recordings & Sofa Beats as well as his own label Smash Bang. In 2023 The Oddness was nominated for best electronic work at the Victorian Music Awards for his track Let it Move featuring the amazing vocals of Ellika.
As well as his original music, he is widely known for his re-interpretations of classic tracks though his ‘Reworks, Edits and Bootlegs’ series.
