Say Sue Me (Korean: 세이수미) is an indie rock band from Busan, South Korea, currently consisting of members Sumi Choi, Byungkyu Kim, Sungwan Lim, and Jaeyoung Kim.

The group formed in 2012 and has released two full-length albums: We've Sobered Up (2014) and Where We Were Together (2018); and four extended plays: Big Summer Night (2015), Semin (2017), It's Just a Short Walk! (2018), and Christmas, It's Not a Biggie (2018).

Say Sue Me won Best Modern Rock Album and Best Modern Rock Song at the 2019 Korean Music Awards.

The Atlantis, a new intimate music venue by the people behind 9:30 Club, opens next month with a lineup of 44 shows for $44.

Details: With a 450-person capacity, the $10 million venue is designed for small, intimate shows. I.M.P. says it’ll be exactly like the original 9:30 — without the huge rats and stench. But per a press release, it will have some sort of a “nod to the infamous pole” that once obstructed the views of attendees.

The intrigue: The Atlantis’ inaugural show schedule, running from May 30 with the Foo Fighters through Sept. 29 with Maggie Rogers, includes big names like Joan Jett, Living Colour, Parliament-Funkadelic, Barenaked Ladies, Tove Lo, and Tegan and Sara.

The Bowery Ballroom is a music venue in the Bowery section of Manhattan, New York City. The structure, at 6 Delancey Street, was built just before the Wall Street Crash in 1929. In 1998 it was converted into a music venue. It has a capacity of 575 people. There are no seats as the entire venue has standing areas only.

ICONIC ART DECO THEATRE ON VANCOUVER’S WEST SIDE
Operating as a neighbourhood theatre from 1935 to 2011, The Hollywood Theatre is a superior example of the Art Deco style. Architect Harold Cullerne designed the elegant theatre with neon signs reflective of the streamlined Jazz Age. It evoked the glamour and elegance of the 1930s, a time when Vancouver was growing rapidly, building other landmark structures such as Vancouver City Hall, the Lions Gate Bridge and the Burrard Bridge.

Extensive renovations were completed in 2020 while maintaining the timeless style of the original structure. With modern Tech Specs, The Hollywood Theatre now offers multi-dimensional programming including film screenings, musical performances, live theatre, comedy, festival and educational events, technical seminars and lectures as well as providing availability and access for events dedicated to charitable fundraising.

Holocene is a music + arts venue, nightclub and events space in the core of inner-SE Portland. Since the summer of 2003, Holocene has been hosting touring acts from folk to minimal techno, Portland’s own most exciting musicians, unforgettable dance parties, and all manner of arts and multimedia parties that blur the line between highbrow and down-and-dirty.

Located in the the old Best Auto Parts warehouse on the corner of SE 10th and Morrison, Holocene is a 5000sf, 312-person venue with soaring white walls, 25′ ceilings, spindly bow-trusses, and a metric ton of hand-built modern detail. Holocene’s two main rooms are each equipped with a superb sound system, video projection, lights, and performance area. The Independent is known for its state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, as well as its perfect sightlines no matter where you’re dancing, making it one of San Francisco’s most popular places for live music. The Independent is home to so many genres of music, making it one of the most unique venues in San Francisco. The Independent is a 21+ club that features a wide variety of bands and musicians, many of whom could easily sell out a much bigger concert hall, but prefer the small and put-together space.

Constellation Room is a venue located within the Observatory OC. 

Step right past the bar inside The Observatory and you'll notice another little venue that unites OC'ers from just about everywhere in one place. The Constellation Room, sometimes considered The Observatory's smaller, more alternative music-loving sibling, is a quaint space that welcomes up-and-coming buzz bands as well as local acts to perform for their adoring all-ages fans. While few people get the chance to sit down on one of the large leather sofas, there's plenty of standing room space to dance and mosh around to your heart's content. Plus, the start of a new month means a new monthly residency of a cool indie band with special guests each week, completely free. With so many great acts in any given week, the Constellation Room is definitely one of the best places in Orange County to catch new music.

Located in the heart of downtown Austin in the historic 6th Street district, The Parish is widely regarded as one of the best indoor live music venues in Austin. Boasting a 450-person capacity, The Parish provides an intimate atmosphere for fans to experience musical legends such as Pete Townshend, Slash, Perry Farrell, and Thom Yorke, as well as up and coming artists such as Alt-J, Tycho, ZZ Ward, and Bonobo. The Roxy Theatre is LA's legendary family owned and operated music venue. All genres of music, craft beers, and the best grilled cheese you'll ever have at a show.

The ROXY THEATER was the best-known burlesque house in Cleveland. Its roots date from 1906, when Truman M. Swetland leased the property, located at 1882 E. 9th St., from Levi E. Meachum for 99 years. In 1907 the Family Theater opened at that location. A movie house by 1909, it was renamed the Orpheum Theater in 1913 and, following a 2-yr. shutdown, the Roxy in 1931. By 1933, under new owner Geo. Young, the Roxy became a nationally known burlesque house.

Throughout its heyday, the Roxy was a stop for entertainers such as Abbott & Costello, Phil Silvers, Red Buttons, Ann Corio, and later, Tempest Storm and Blaze Starr. The theater was remodeled in 1956 by new owners Frank Engel and Frank Bryan, and they brought their Eastern Burlesque circuit to Cleveland. From 1968 until its final closing and razing in 1977, the Roxy alternated between live entertainment and X-rated movies. The theater and property were sold in 1971 to Kope Realty for $150,000. In Sept. 1972 the lobby of the theater was bombed, but the Roxy reopened in Feb. 1973, showing X-rated films. Later that year, manager Tommy Flynn was arrested on obscenity charges for showing "Behind the Green Door." The Roxy closed permanently on 6 Nov. 1977. Although the theater was razed to make way for the Natl. City Ctr. (now PNC Bank), its name was perpetuated in the Roxy Bar & Grill, which has since closed.

Resurrected Velvet Underground club will be reopening as a live music venue in February.

Local entertainment group Embrace Presents has taken over the Queen West venue, which closed in September, and plans to open the revived space early in the new year.

“We heard the Velvet was closing, so we immediately reached out as we had always been huge fans of the venue,” says Embrace’s CEO, Adam Gill.

Embrace has already started to revamp it to focus solely on live music. “We plan is to modernize it and we are doing a big renovation as we speak,” Gill says, “The main difference will be that its focus will be on live music as a concert venue where before it was more a club for goth or industrial music.”

The space, which has been a go-to place for rock, new-wave and metal, was dissolved by Liberty Entertainment Group back in September. According to a press release, the Liberty was shifting gears to focus on expanding a repertoire of wine bars and clubs.

Considered a musical institution by many, the intimate venue has featured an impressive roster of Canadian artists, including Alanis Morissette, who celebrated her chart-topping album release party of Jagged Little Pill there in 1995.

Embrace has announced their official reopening party will take place on February 12, with Toronto’s own dystopian-pop group, TRUST to ring in the comeback of the space.

“We had thought it would be an amazing live venue for a few years now,” say Gill. “Since the Bigbop/reverb closed there has been a void left in the market and we plan to help bring live music back to Queen Street.”

Say Sue Me

Cited as one of 2018's ‘break-out bands', Say Sue Me are a Surf inspired Indie-Rock/Pop act from Busan, South Korea. Members consist of Byungkyu Kim on lead guitar, Sumi Choi on vocals and rhythm guitar, Jaeyoung Kim on Bass and Sungwan Lim on Drums.

The band released their first album “We’ve Sobered Up” in 2014, and an EP “Big Summer Night” in 2015, on Korean label Electric Muse. A self-titled compilation that paired their first record and EP was released by UK Damnably Records in 2017, marking the band’s first release outside of Korea, which served as an introduction to International audiences. Following well-anticipated showcases at SXSW & The Great Escape in 2018, the band released their sophomore album Where We Were Together and a RSD covers EP It’s Just a Short Walk!, winning praise from the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, Billboard, i-D, The Independent, Stereogum, Paste, MTV, Uproxx, Fader, Drowned in Sound, DIY, The 405 & more. Lauren Laverne, Tom Ravenscroft, Gideon Coe, Iggy Pop and Don Letts on BBC 6Music have championed the band as well as Elton John on Beats1 and KEXP. In the same year, the band embarked on tours in Europe and Japan and appeared as part of the line up at the first DMZ Peace Train Music Festival in Korea’s Demilitarized Zone. They count Yo La Tengo, Japanese Breakfast, Snail Mail, The Ravonettes, Speedy Ortiz, The Beths, and The Notwist as fans.

In 2019, Say Sue Me were nominated for five Korean Music Awards (ultimately winning 2), going up against the almighty BTS in three major categories. They released ‘At The End OfThe Road’, an environmental ode to the sea, showcased at SXSW 2019 for a second time, recorded a live session in the shoe box at Vans HQ in Los Angeles, played Les Eurockeennes Festival, Greenman Festival, Reeperbahn Festival and embark on their first North American tour in late 2019.

Like everyone else in the world, the band were forced to take a touring hiatus in 2020, and quietly began work on a new album. In 2021, they wrote opening theme songs ‘So Tender’ for JTBC and Netflix’ Korean drama Nevertheless, and ‘My Heart’ for TvN’s hit Korean drama Yumi’s Cells, broadcast rights for which has been sold in more than 160 countries around the world.

In 2022, the band returned with a new album ‘The Last Thing Left’ and celebrated their 10th anniversary since forming the band with a special EP of cover songs, titled ‘10’. They again received nominations at the 2023 Korean Music Awards for Best New Album (Rock) and Best New Song (Rock).
