Originaire de Glasgow, maître d'un Hip-Hop autant intense qu'expérimental aux basses lentes et puissantes, Rustie a sorti son premier album, Glass Swords, en 2011 sur nul autre label que le prestigieux Warp Records. Cet opus a littéralement marqué la scène.

Son approche singulière et frappante à mêler l'énergie de la pop à l'expérimentation rampante de la musique électronique underground a placé Rustie à part de ses contemporains. Parmi ses adeptes et supports, des artistes tels Flying Lotus, Grimes ou Gorillaz, et des médias imposants comme NME, BBC Radio 1 et The Guardian, qui a récemment sacré Glass Swords meilleur premier album de l' année.
