"One of the most talented singer/songwriters around at the moment." TONY MCGUINESS, ABOVE & BEYOND
In the male-dominated world of EDM, one artist is determined to be seen as more than ‘eye candy’ or a voice for hire. Aruna is not solely the pretty vocalist you hear on your favorite dance tracks - she’s penned a chart-topping single recorded by Miley Cyrus for the multi-platinum selling #1 Billboard Hannah Montana soundtrack, collaborated with some of dance music's biggest names, and has since added DJing and producing to her arsenal of skills. Along with being a classically trained pianist and formerly sought after studio musician, it’s safe to say that Aruna is one of the industry’s most exciting and successful leading Ladies.
Aruna got her start in EDM recording for a host of internationally recognized producers, including Cosmic Gate, ATB, Myon & Shane54, Filo & Peri, Ronski Speed and Roger Shah. Her debut solo single, ‘Let Go,’ was released on renowned UK imprint Anjunabeats’ Volume 8 compilation and cracked the iTunes Dance Top 200 singles chart at #150. But Aruna’s true breakout moment came in May 2012 when her track ‘Live Forever’ with Dutch superstar Ferry Corsten shot to #2 on the UK Upfront Top 40 Club chart. Dubbed the “anthem of the summer” by fans around the world, ‘Live Forever’ became one of the Top 50 most played tracks of 2012 on Sirius XM BPM and stayed at #1 on the Beatport Trance chart for nearly eight weeks straight, while the official music video racked up more than half a million views on YouTube -- over 100,000 in the first two days alone. With no sign of slowing down, 2013 saw the arrival of her debut collaboration with the former #1 DJ in the world, Armin Van Buuren , ‘Wont Let You Go’, on his artist album Intense, which shot to #1 on iTunes in 20 countries the day of its release.
Aruna’s honest lyrics connecting repeatedly with fans around the world earned her the #5 position in Beatsmedia’s Top Vocalists poll for 2012. Her podcast, The Hot List, rocketed to #14 on the iTunes Top 200 Music Podcasts chart following a much buzzed-about guest mix on Above & Beyond's Trance Around The World, racking up more than a million downloads in the two months following.
The songstress/DJ has been a regular fixture on the international circuit as well, touring consistently both singing and spinning live, with highlight performances at such festivals as ASOT 550 and Nocturnal Wonderland, and at top clubs the world over including Foundation (Seattle), Lizard Lounge (Dallas), Avalon (Los Angeles), Exchange (Los Angeles), ATT Showbox (Taipei), X2 (Jakarta), Home (Sydney) and a live performance with Armin van Buuren at the Hollywood Palladium.
Currently she's putting finishing touches on a handful of forthcoming singles, which will be released on Enhanced Recordings later this year, working select collaborations with top artists in both trance and house and touring. The future is golden for this unique, mutlifaceted artist, who continues to raise the bar, break barriers and keep people guessing .
