Wavves Announce Summer 'King of the Beach' Anniversary Tour

Wavves have announced a summer tour to celebrate the 12th anniversary of their seminal album King of the Beach. The shows were originally planned for the record’s 10th birthday in 2020, but were pushed back due to the pandemic. The tour kicks in Ventura, California and sees the garage rock band stopping in major cities across the United States and Canada before concluding on August 27 in Los Angeles. While their touring plans for King of the Beach’s birthday were put on hold, Wavves did get to roll out a 10th anniversary reissue of the album in 2020. Snacks, Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast’s pet cat and the album cover star of King of the Beach, died two months ago. Wavves’ seventh and most recent album, Hideaway, came out last year.
