Peso Pluma adds Majestic Theatre show on his first U.S. tour

Up-and-coming Mexican artist Peso Pluma is bringing his electric urban Latin sound to the Majestic Theatre stage this September. Pluma announced his first-ever U.S. tour called the Doble P Tour, which includes a San Antonio stop on September 9, during an interview with Rolling Stone on Tuesday, March 28.

Pluma draws inspiration from the regional Mexican and Latin urban genres to put a unique spin on corrido, which is an old Mexican storytelling song tradition, according to his bio on the Majestic Theatre. Corrido has gained newfound popularity with the addition of trap, hip-hop, and urbano into the mix, according to Live Nation. 

Pluma was born and raised in Guadalajara. He has been making waves in the Latin music scene with songs such as "El Belicon," which made the Billboard chart in April 2022, "Siempre Pendientes" featuring Luis R. Conriquez, and "Igualito A Mi Apa" with Fuerza Regida, along with a few others. Nine of his songs also landed him a spot on Hot Latin Songs chart — three of them managed to crack the top 10, according to Live Nation.

The artist has over 19 million listeners on Spotify and has more than 193 million views on YouTube, adding new listeners to his growing fan base. His many Spotify listeners also helped him become the first Mexican artist to lead the Daily Top Artists Mexico chart, which made Spotify Mexico history, according to the Majestic. Pluma's name was also included as one of Billboard's Latin Artists on the Rise.

Pluma embarks on his 17-city Doble P Tour, which is produced by Live Nation, in Inglewood, California on July 20 and concludes in Anaheim, California on October 20. Fans can catch this rising Latin star at the Majestic Theatre on September 9 at 8 p.m.
