Flight Facilities to Make Live Return with 2022 ‘FOREVER’ Tour

Jimmy Lyell and Hugo Gruzman, aka Flight Facilities, are hitting all capital cities for their 2022 Forever Tour, named after their second album, Forever, but also reflecting what they say feels like an eternity since they played to an Aussie crowd.

The electronic duo kick off the tour at Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Saturday March 12. They'll be at Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl on March 26; Brisbane's Riverstage on April 2, and Adelaide's Bonython Park on April 9 (with shows also in Darwin and Hobart).

Just weeks after the announcement of their second studio album, beloved Australian electronic duo Flight Facilities have unveiled their return to the live stage, sharing dates for their upcoming ‘FOREVER’ tour.

Set to kick off in March of 2022, the ‘FOREVER’ tour will see the pair bringing their impressive live show to crowds across the country, with shows scheduled for Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide, and Darwin. As part of the forthcoming tour, Flight Facilities are also curating a special event dubbed ‘Airfields’, which takes place Sydney’s Victoria Park, with a lineup of local and international talent.

“It will have been over two years since we last set foot on an Australian live stage, and it has felt like an eternity,” explained Flight Facilities in a statement. “Returning with an event in Sydney, where we first started, felt like the best way to reignite the flame for a live music culture that, while wounded, is alive and deeply important to us. Some of our favourite music memories have been within the crowds of Australian acts, and we wanted to showcase similar experiences, to plant the seed for the next generation of local artists.

“With support from Cosmo’s Midnight, Jayda G, CC:DISCO!, Sycco and merci, mercy, we figured the only way to celebrate, after years of being cooped up in a studio, is outdoors in the sun,” they added. “It seems only fitting that Australian artists should be the ones throwing the first and biggest party of 2022.”

News of Flight Facilities’ new tour comes just weeks after it was announced that they would release their long-awaited album, FOREVER, on November 12th – more than seven years on from their debut effort.

“7 years ago, during an interview for the release of our first album Down to Earth, we joked ‘the next one probably won’t be done ‘til 2020’,” they stated. “And somehow, here we are, staring down the barrel of 2022, holding the product of 5 years work.

“The best way to describe this album is a combination of where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going.”
