Alt J: The North American Tour Dates 2022 Dates, Calendar, Events & Parties
Tour Details
Alt-J To Tour North America In 2022.
Idiosyncratic rockers Alt-J announced their return to the stage on Wednesday.
The British group will embark on a North American tour – predominantly of arenas, but with a smattering of shed and theater plays – in February 2022. The trek begins at Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Penn., on Feb. 25, 2022, and concludes at Toronto's Coca-Cola Coliseum on April 17, 2022.
Alt-J's stops along the way include Atlanta's State Farm Arena (March 2), San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (April 1) and New York City's Madison Square Garden (April 11).
The tour marks Alt-J's first shows since July 2019, when the band played four gigs – the extent of its 2019 touring – in Canada. Alt-J toured North America, Europe and Asia in 2018.
Alt-J's tour will support the release of its just-announced fourth album, The Dream, on February 11, 2022, the band's first album since 2017's Relaxer.
Portugal. The Man will support all dates, with additional support provided by Sir Chloe and Cherry Glazerr on the tour's first and second halves, respectively.
Alt-J ranked No. 139 on Pollstar's year-end North American touring chart in 2015, when it notched the three most lucrative North American box office reports of its career: a sold-out two-night April 2015 stand at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif., that sold 17,009 tickets and grossed $722,923; a sold-out March 2015 show at Madison Square Garden that moved 12,375 tickets and grossed $606,323; and a headlining turn at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl that sold 9,471 tickets and grossed $510,772.
alt-J are coming to town — please try to look busy. Because if we make eye contact, there will be hell to pay, as the celebrated Leeds art-rock band crash back onto our shores armed with new music and word of a 2022 North American tour with Portugal. The Man and special guests Sir Chloe and Cherry Glazerr.
This week alt-J got our emotions all stirred up with a new slinky new track titled “U&ME”, and it serves as the first taste off the group’s forth studio album, The Dream, set for February 11 release Canvasback / Infectious Music. It’s alt-J’s new music since their acclaimed 2017 album RELAXER.
Directed by band member Gus Unger-Hamilton’s brother, Prosper Unger-Hamilton, the video for “U&ME” is the first to feature the full band. It’s an evocative video that recalls summer memories and was inspired by Newman’s experiences at a festival in Melbourne.
The band have announced the first leg of their world tour with their most extensive ever North American run to date with Portugal The Man. The tour sees them play arenas across the United States and Canada in 2022. Joining them are Sir Chloe* and Cherry Glazerr.** Highlights of the tour includes STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, as well as New York’s Madison Square Garden. The tour will also make stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, and Boston before wrapping up April 17 in Toronto at Coca-Cola Coliseum.
