Built in 1926 as a produce wholesaler, this building just east of downtown was later in the vanguard of the city’s revitalization, serving first as the infamous Anti-Mall and then as the nightclub 305 South. It is now a multi-use arts space with variable capacity and flexible seating. Duke Performances has presented new works, contemporary classical concerts, Jason Moran’s Fats Waller Dance Party, and the nationally acclaimed MONK@100 and In the Jazz Tradition festivals at The Fruit.
