Description
Elsie de Wolfe is hailed as the first female interior designer, known for replacing dark and ornate Victorian decor with a lighter, simpler, more feminine style, as well as authoring of the influential book, The House in Good Taste. Also known as Lady Mendle, De Wolfe was a prominent social figure in both New York and Paris, entertaining in the most distinguished circles.
Twenty-five stories up, near Bryant Park, sits the lavish Elsie Rooftop, paying homage to one of society’s most renowned doyennes. Like Lady Mendle herself, Elsie Rooftop knows how to plan event, capitalizing on New York City’s energy and savoir faire. Elsie is truly an all-season destination with sophisticated indoor and outdoor seating options, as well as bespoke cocktails which perfectly compliment the upscale, seasonally-focused light fare menu.
