Info

Downtown Los Angeles has a wealth of stunning properties leftover from its twentieth century heyday, and this bank vault in the middle of Historic Core has been transformed into Reserve. As one of L.A.'s oldest bank spaces, the building goes back to 1924, when the Hellman Commercial Trust and Savings was built into the ground floor (it was eventually absorbed into Bank of America). Officially opened this past Saturday, Reserve spans a number of sub-lounges and dance floors for a multi-faceted experience depending on the night of the week. Founded by Eric Cloutier, the project has been over a year in the making. Wednesdays boast live performers and singers, giving the place a supper club-like feel. Once the weekend comes, expect DJs to pound music on the dance floors.

To sip, enjoy classics like Sazeracs, juleps, and fizzes to farmer's market-driven intoxicants like the Benjamin's baby, mixing gin, chambord, blackberries, and prosecco. All the drinks get a fun monetary theme, but that doesn't mean everything is expensive. Daily happy hour means $8 old fashioneds and $7 wells. If you're hungry, a tight list of bar bites like truffle parmesan fries and sliders will keep you satiated while you party away. Or bite into a bacon brie blue cheese burger if you came with an appetite.
