Brownie Mary's Kelsey & Co Saturday, December 26, 20206 Thunderbird Music Hall 4053 Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PA Doors @ 7:00pm Show @ 8:00pm AGE RESTRICTION: 21+ Brownie Mary: A Little Nostalgia, A Lot of Rock Formed in 1993, Brownie Mary quickly became one of Pittsburgh’s hottest bands of the ’90s. Founding members Kelsey Friday and Rich Jacques met at Bethany College in West Virginia, started out playing covers in local bars, and eventually decided they had a few things of their own to say (and sing). After moving to Pittsburgh, they teamed up with Mike Marks and Steve Kaz, built a seriously loyal following, and took their high-energy pop-rock sound up and down the East Coast. In 1994, they won the Graffiti Rock Challenge, beating out 100 bands and earning the title of Pittsburgh’s “Next Big Thing.” They went on to open for Melissa Etheridge, Hootie & the Blowfish, Dave Matthews Band, The Pretenders, and plenty of other big names. In 1997, Brownie Mary signed with Atlantic’s Blackbird/Sire label and released their major-label debut, Naked, in 1998. They toured like crazy, playing 250 shows in a single year. Not a bad way to spend your twenties! After seven years together, the band called it a day, playing their final official show on New Year’s Eve 2000 with Veruca Salt in Columbus, Ohio. But apparently, you can’t keep a good band down. Fifteen years later, Brownie Mary reunited to release a five-song EP, You Like Me a Lot...raw, honest, rockin’, and proof that they still don’t take themselves too seriously. Today, Kelsey Friday, Rick Witkoski, Mike Marks, and Jay Constable get back together a couple of times a year, joined by special guests Jack Delaney and Jamie Peck, to play new tunes and the fan favorites. Turns out, some things just get better with age! ! Ticket Tier Info: General Admission Tickets - Standing Room Only All sales are final.
