⭓ Pride month is back in Taiwan! On 30 October, the night of Taiwan Trans Pride, we’re throwing QooPa. This is our fourth year joining Pride with a party, so bring your old friends and your new ones. A safety team will be there all night to look out for everyone. We’ll also have a donation box, and everything we raise goes to the Taiwan Tongzhi (LGBTQ+) Hotline Association, who organise the Trans Pride march.
⭓ This year we’ve invited РНЛЕМА'НАММЕЯ, a performance artist from Sydney. He’s an Australian artist with Filipino heritage, and his work moves between galleries, theatres and underground clubs, bringing avant-garde visual art into party culture. With handmade costumes, prosthetics and sculpture, he turns the body into mythical creatures somewhere between human, animal and machine. Live performance has been part of our parties all year, and we can’t wait to share his.
⭓ On the decks, stereogamous (AUS) returns for their fourth Taiwan Trans Pride, and our QooPa resident Kemical SistaS (TW) will of course be there. SULK (TW) is part of OIL Soundsystem in Shenzhen and a resident DJ at Taipei party Pure G, with mixes on NTS and Mixmag, and just played an all night long set at Mihnclub in Hong Kong. Add rising star ANDY MCQUOID and his juicy, high energy sets, and we’ll dance with you at Final till sunrise.

⭔ It’s been a hard few weeks for our community. The Taipei police went too far, even breaking the law themselves, and it has caused anger across the community. What we’re protesting is how the law was enforced:
┃People asked to see a search warrant. The police refused.
┃An officer insulted a wheelchair user. After checking bodycam footage, the police admitted it.
┃The manager spoke up for him, was handcuffed, and was told to kneel.
┃When people questioned this, an officer said, “Go ahead and sue us.”
┃If someone breaks the law, deal with it by the law. There’s no need to humiliate people.
⭔ But many people skipped over what actually happened and oversimplified it, which led to needless verbal attacks. That’s why we’ll show up at Taiwan Trans Pride on 30 October and Taiwan Pride on 31 October, and speak to society simply by being there. We hope to march with you on both days!
