Hackney Bridge London, United Kingdom Zaperoco returns to Hackney Bridge this November and this time we’re bringing something very special. For the very first time El Mágico Baobab soundsystem lands in London! A hand-made picó sound system, built in the Netherlands to traditional Colombian measurements and painted by renowned Colombian picó artist William Gutiérrez Peñaloza, this vibrant sound system will be pumping out heavy sounds from across Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America. This one is vinyl only with Lady Avocado, Amancai and a very special guest joining us on the decks – to be revealed soon. Lady Avocado, a Colombian DJ and vinyl selector from Barranquilla now based in Barcelona, blends Afro-Caribbean roots, tropical grooves and psychedelic rhythms into energetic live sets. Amancai, hailing from Cartagena and co-founder of Zaperoco, her sets move through Champeta, Cumbia, Salsa, Soukous, Zouk and Compas, drawing on the rich musical exchanges between Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America.
