Patrice Scott is one of Detroit’s most innovative and dynamic club DJs, known for his deep, textured house and techno sound. Inspired at just 11 by Direct Drive’s block parties, he grew up immersed in the sounds of Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills and The Electrifying Mojo, alongside Chicago legends Larry Heard, Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles. His music draws on the rich palette of 1990s deep house and techno while pursuing constant innovation—driven by a passion for finding otherworldliness in music rather than following trends. In 2006, he founded Sistrum Recordings, whose releases have earned ongoing critical acclaim. His debut album, Euphonium (2015), was praised by Resident Advisor for its “jaw-dropping production prowess, both from a programming and compositional perspective.” With a relentless focus on unique music, the dance floor and collaborations with American and European artists, Scott remains one of the scene’s most ambitious and compelling figures.
