 RENATE LIVE is our new Thursday series bringing bands, performances and events that are not traditional club experiences into the club. We believe culture should be accessible, affordable, and as diverse as the community it serves.  Starting and ending early, you can squeeze in some live music or creative activities with friends at a wallet-friendly price. Doors: 20:00 Performances from 21:00 + after party until 02:00 -- Kresse 3 is the herb peeking out from the cracks between the cobblestones. You might call it post-punk, recognize the euphoric energy of Krautrock, or hear the old melancholy of German-language indie pop. All these influences are certainly present—you can hear echoes of Element of Crime, CAN, Wanda, Tocotronic, or International Music. And in the vocal harmonies—if you have a big enough heart—even the Beatles. Yet, the whole thing is driven primarily by the urge to find new imagery; to tell stories of setting out, of desires, of futility, of stumbling, and of momentum and high spirits all at once—warm and sad, both together: beautiful! “It is these contradictory melancholies, the constant falling while rising, the echo of bleak German landscapes despite the sunshine, that make this appetizingly presented release so alluring” – Hilka Dirks, *taz* Ultimately, we make music that we enjoy.
