Description
Halloween is coming to OXI, and by 23:00 the building will have crossed over into something darker, stranger, and considerably less concerned with the laws of ordinary reality.
For one night, the entire club will be swallowed by Halloween. Sinister decorations, deep colors, strange shadows and low lights will transform the building into a twisted playground of sound, darkness and questionable decisions.
Two floors, two different journeys, and a whole building designed to make you lose track of which one you started on.
One floor runs on house, the other on techno. Somewhere between them, the night begins to splinter. OXI has always been less a straight line than a small labyrinth, but on Halloween, that labyrinth takes on a wicked new personality.
Corridors lead into rooms, rooms lead into corners, and corners lead into people you have never met before. Dark rooms offer refuge for those with something to hide, while shadowy passages, decorated hideaways and strange little pockets invite the curious and the hopelessly lost to explore further.
Two bars keep the machinery running, including one mixing cocktails for those who prefer their bad decisions shaken with ice. Outside, the sprawling garden offers a place to smoke, flirt, meet strangers, lose your friends and somehow find them again twenty minutes later.
House on one side. Techno on the other. Dark rooms, cocktails, haunted corners and a maze of Halloween-drenched spaces where the night grows stranger with every wrong turn.
Welcome to Halloween at OXI. Enter at 23:00. The rest is between you and the darkness.
On O-Floor, Cobahn, Toru Ikemoto live and Connor Wall take control.
Cobahn, born and raised in Korea and now based in Amsterdam, operates somewhere in the deeper end of the techno spectrum. Hypnotic, trippy and patient, her sets have a habit of pulling the room further in before anybody notices how far they have travelled. This is one for arriving early and surrendering to the long game.
Then there is Toru Ikemoto, coming in from Osaka with no safety net and no conventional DJ set. Everything is live. His performances are restless, vibrant and constantly moving, building strange little worlds and tearing them apart again in real time. A co-founder of Aum Records with releases on MARRØN’s Ndyuka Rhythms, his appearance at Stone Techno Festival this summer became one of the weekend’s most talked-about live sets.
Connor Wall closes the triangle. Raised in Australia’s underground and now based in Berlin, he has released music through Rene Wise’s Moving Pressure and Belgium’s Token Records. His sets hit hard, but brute force is only half the story. There is pacing, tension and narrative underneath it, the kind that can turn several hours on a dance floor into something suspiciously close to a hallucination.
Across the building, the X-Floor belongs to OXI residents Malte Süß and Michael Lane, joined by Clarisse & CatMint.
Michael Lane, OXI resident and producer with a particular talent for the making the past sound like the future. His sets weave together progressive house with 70s disco, 80s electronica and 90s piano house, with a healthy appetite for unexpected twists and cheeky edits. His EP 'Burning Up' on Belters 4 U this summer is a perfect example: rolling basslines, infectious percussion and soaring synthesizers, hitting that sweet spot between playful hedonism and genuine emotion, building on the sound of his releases on Cormac’s Polari Records, Soulmeex, Gay Groove and many others. There is something gloriously unpredictable about his selections, where nostalgia collides with modern club energy and the next track might just be the one you never knew you needed
CatMint connects two worlds with sets moving between techno, trance and hard house. Energetic as she is, she brings that same energy to every performance, never a dull moment with her. Expect velocity, drama and absolutely no dead air.
Outside, Berlin will be doing whatever Berlin does on Halloween. Inside OXI, things will be darker.
Deep colors. Low lights. Two floors transformed for the night.
Come early. Stay late.
