Chapel of Ease
https://www.instagram.com/chapelofeaseband/
Six-piece band from Toronto, Ontario that plays atmospheric, original folk rock. Darcy Cooper’s raw, intense songwriting has earned comparisons to the likes of Jason Molina, Will Oldham and Bill Callahan, while the band draws on influences from traditional Americana to psychedelia to Spaghetti Westerns and David Lynch soundtracks. Chapel of Ease plays happy songs that make you feel terrible, and tragic songs that raise you up.

The Cross Sea

Emerging from a cross-border collaboration between Anna Mērnieks-Duffield (Beams, Ace of Wands), Kevin McMahon (producer of Swans, Titus Andronicus, Pile), and musician and filmmaker Daniel Liss, The Cross Sea captures a rare moment in which three creators chose instinct over expectation and, in the process, uncovered something transformative and enigmatic. Alchemizing less through formal studio sessions than through days marked by lake swims, BBQs, and even an accidental studio lockout, The Cross Sea’s self-titled debut album became a vivid exploration of instinct, chemistry, and risk. Across its eight tracks, the album embraces stark contrasts, with acoustic guitar beside fuzzed-out bass, banjo against harsh vocals, and simple melodies framed by chaotic electronics.

LeBarons
https://www.instagram.com/lebaronsband/
Since 2014, LeBarons have been crafting their unique style of independent alt-country. Lush, atmospheric soundscapes set the stage for Chris MacDonald's vivid, lyrical stories. Features delicate interplay between the voices of Chris and co-vocalist Megan Tilston whose ghostly tone seems to float effortlessly above the layers of fuzz and feedback. The latest single, Running River (July, 2026) has a controlled and relentless groove and a dream-like aural palette. Their most recent latest album, Days Are Mountains (August, 2023) sees the band push beyond the confines of traditional alt-country.
