Description
Join us for Clay by Candlelight — an intimate, candlelit pottery workshop at In The Lowest Ferns, presented by Audrey Jean Ceramics.
This is an invitation to get your hands dirty, enjoy music, and create intuitively in a grounding, communal space. Audrey, local ceramicist, will demonstrate the fundamentals for working with clay. From there, you decide what you want to create — exploring different shapes, tools, and materials as you go. The evening moves at your pace with no set end time. Each guest will make one piece, which will be kiln-fired, glazed, and ready for pick-up at a later date. All are welcome (21+), whether you’re coming solo, on a date, with a friend, or with the whole group.
*\*The bar will be open offering cocktails, mocktails, and other refreshments (available for purchase) to enjoy while you create, and light snacks will be provided.*
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that can get messy.
Come as you are.
**DOORS OPEN AT 6:30PM & WORKSHOP BEGINS AT 7PM**

POTTERY PICKUP: Finished pieces will need time to dry before being bisque-fired, glazed, and fired in the kiln once more. The time this process takes varies, but the estimated turnaround time is ~3 weeks. Once ready, you’ll receive an email with pickup details. Please email audreyjeanceramics@gmail.com with any questions, or if you don’t see an email after the event.
Your pieces will be food, microwave, and dishwasher safe, but handwashing is recommended.
THE NATURE OF HANDMADE: While rare, fragile pieces may crack during the drying or firing process. This is part of working with clay and creating something handmade. If it happens, we’re so sorry and hope you still embrace the experience and enjoy the time spent creating.
