Description
Join Maritek as we close out the summer and celebrate our four year anniversary at Nowadays September 3rd from 10pm - 4am! We will reminisce on all the amazing memories we’ve created over the years while also setting intentions for a future that continues to uplift our community through music, dance, and queer Latine joy. To commemorate this momentous occasion we are stacking this line up with a mix of Maritek family and some sonic curators we are extremely excited to bring to the party for the first time.
Returning to our line up is DJ Warning! Now based in New York City, he maintains a pulsating dance floor with selections that take movers on a journey making stops at fierce, nasty, and pure ecstasy.
Joining us for the first time and making his New York City debut, Chicago based DJ/Producer J. Cordova is about to alter the fabric of our sonic realities. Co-Founder of the label Agua de Rosas, his sound draws from Chicago house, early hard house, techno and bass-driven styles. You can find his productions on labels like NAAFI, fusing driving drums and syncopated rhythms informed by Latin club and dembow.
Another selector on our line-up for the first time is Brooklyn’s Coyado. He offers listeners a layered musical experience bringing in heavy dub pressure, latin percussion, low-end rumbles, and polyrhythmic snaps found in dembow and cumbia.
Finally to round it out, Maritek residents ALTA (Tek Nena and Miss Beverly) and DJ Sadboy join the line-up bringing queer Latin excellence and selections that aim to keep the dance floor in motion all night.

Accessibility:
The wheelchair entrance to our indoor space is in the driveway, which is the access point most commonly used to enter Nowadays. During parties the driveway gate is locked, so please ask staff at the street entrance for assistance with entry.
All of our bathrooms are gender-neutral. There is one accessible stall indoors. Just ask any Nowadays staff member for the key, and they can show you the way. During parties, seating is available both on and off the dance floor. While we don’t have a dedicated quiet space indoors during parties, the booths next to coat check are a little quieter, and the deck and back yard a little quieter than that. Most nighttime parties include the use of strobe lights and water based haze.
