Âme (Innervisions) and Rodriguez Jr. hybrid live. One night of melodic techno and deep house in San Francisco. Public Works, Sept 18th.
Two hours in, the room stops being an audience.
This is a lineage booking, not a lineup.

Âme DJ (Innervisions)
Rodriguez Jr. Hybrid Live (Anjunadeep, Feathers & Bones, Mobilee)
Âme co-founded Innervisions. Whatever you heard on a melodic techno
stage this year, somewhere upstream it is borrowing from that catalog.
Rodriguez Jr. arrives from the other direction entirely. Not a USB. Hardware.
One night. Two ways of building the same room.
ÂME DJ .
The long arc. Deep house patience and melodic techno weight, held back
until the room earns it. Nothing rushed. Nothing announced before it
lands. If you have been waiting for a set that trusts you to stay past
2AM, this is it.
RODRIGUEZ JR.
Hybrid live.
This is live electronic performance, not a DJ set. Machines on stage,
sequenced and played in real time. The version you hear on September 18
exists once. It will not be repeated in another city, on another night,
for anyone else. Live means the risk is real. That is the entire point.
Presented by SET Underground x Safra x Konnekted.
Three crews. One door. The room and who is standing in it has always
been the product. We curate the floor as carefully as the lineup, which
is why the people next to you will be there for the same reason you are.
PUBLIC WORKS
161 Erie St, San Francisco.
Low room. Loud room. The kind of space where the crowd and the booth
are in the same conversation instead of on opposite sides of a barricade.
If those two names mean something to you, you already know what this
night is.

Âme is the german duo Kristian Beyer & Frank Wiedemann.
In a genre seemingly obsessed with revisiting the past, Âme look firmly to the future of dance music. Driven toward continual evolution since they started making tracks in 2001, the German duo of Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer have challenged club-goers’ expectations with their conceptually driven and uniquely visceral music. Now over 15 years into their career together, their deep understanding of the clubbing landscape and each other’s strengths allows Âme to stay innovative and relevant in a swiftly paced genre. And as primary partners of the Innervisions label/collective with Dixon, the pair continue to foster the future of house with carefully selected releases, all-encompassing live events, and even their own boutique shop that solidifies the connection between the artists and their admirers.
Wiedemann and Beyer first crossed paths in 2000 at the latter's record shop, Plattentasche, in their hometown of Karlsruhe. Bonding over Chicago house, Detroit techno and much else besides, the duo began producing seminal releases for Sonar Kollektiv in 2003. Eager to not repeat themselves, Âme shattered their established sound in favor of a nimble, compositional approach that birthed their club-conquering single, "Rej", and introduced them on the world stage.
One could understand if Âme had just pursued the sound that brought them such acclaim. Yet the pair have never rested on their laurels, continuously folding experimental sounds and their deconstructed take on classical composition into singles and remixes built for delighting dancers. From the waltzing proto-techno of "Fiori" to ruminating deep house cut “Rrose Selavy”, they’ve made music for the mind and body with each release. Âme are also known for crafting emotional anthems, strumming at your heartstrings with their cinematic single “Tatischeff” and their glowing and nearly ubiquitous remix of “Howling”. The pair will further expand their sound on their long-awaited debut album.
Âme are just as multifaceted when translated to the live arena: What you’ll hear depends on which configuration of Âme is in your city that night. Kristian is the veteran globe-trotting DJ, while Frank, more a creature of the studio, performs dynamic live sets and these days covers just as many miles. Recently the duo have intertwined their DJ and live sets as Âme II Âme, dissolving the boundaries between these formats to deliver peerless experiences that make the most of their respective abilities. Together and apart they frequent the booths and stages of the world’s top clubs and festivals, carrying the Âme sound far and wide.
As the core of Innervisions alongside Dixon, the duo translate their forward-thinking approach across the collective’s various arms. The imprint is known for its rigorous quality control, releasing only a handful of records per year, each encased in sumptuous packaging featuring collaborations with established visual artists. Beyer and Dixon provide the label's A&R direction, inviting select musicians – such as veterans like Laurent Garnier, Agoria, and Marc Houle and rising stars Recondite, Rampa, and Trikk – to accompany family members Henrik Schwarz, Marcus Worgull, Tokyo Black Star, and Culoe De Song. Innervisions even handles its own physical and digital distribution, forgoing traditional channels and the pitfalls accompanying them.
The group stays connected with their large fanbase with their online/brick-and-mortar shop, MTN Muting The Noise, whose tightly curated offerings of records, clothes, and other items provides the fullest expression of the Innervision aesthetic. They even take their particular perspective on the road, through both their own Temporary Secretary booking agency and their immersive Lost In A Moment parties thrown in unexpected settings. Refusing to step back from the leading-edge or compromise on their exacting standards, Âme remain at the forefront of electronic music.
Sharing these sounds – and those that inspire him – is at the heart of Hernan’s musical mission and is something he achieves through his relentless touring schedule. A resident at the UK’s longest running weekly event The Gallery @ London’s Ministry of Sound, Hernan’s DJ passport is stamped with the most respected dance events on the planet. From Serbia’s Exit to Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival, Spain’s Monegros to Holland’s Dance Valley, just about every major dance event has been graced by Hernan’s expertly weaved DJ journeys.
Rodriguez Jr. Bio
Award-winning music producer and live performer Rodriquez Jr. also known as Olivier Mateu has spent 20 years in the industry, with his vast experience of all genres of electronic music making him the visionary of melodic house and techno he is today.
Whilst some follow trends, others set them. Award-winning music producer and live performer Rodriquez Jr. also known as Olivier Mateu has spent 20 years in the industry, with his vast experience of all genres of electronic music making him the visionary of melodic house and techno he is today. Initially, Mateu made his name under the mentorship of the legendary Laurent Garnier, releasing music on the revered F-Communications label as one half of French electro act The Youngsters. Following this he gradually honed his style into the dynamic, colourful sound of beauty that can now be regularly found on Mobilee, Anjunadeep and demanded for on remixes of Stephan Bodzin, Booka Shade, Eli & Fur, Steve Bug, Timo Maas and more.
Drawing inspiration for his live performances from the vintage synthesizers, keyboards and dusty analog gear of his studio in Paris, Rodriguez Jr. relishes the opportunity to travel the globe and realise his project on stage. In doing so he has amassed a devoted and loyal fan base through the creation of his unique movement. Some of the most recent acclaimed shows featured huge festival performances at Sziget (Hungary), Lightning in A Bottle and CRSSD (both California), Paraiso and Sonar Festival (both Spain). Continuing to blur the boundaries between electronic and organic like few others can, his extensive touring schedule sees Mateu at world-renowned clubs every week, taking him to the likes of Solumun’s party at Destino Ibiza, Fabric London and Space Miami.
Not stopping there, Rodriguez Jr. has formed a special musical partnership with former Nouvelle Vague vocalist Liset Alea. The pair met 15 years ago creating music for Laurent Garnier ́s label, and through their ongoing live RJLA project, they tell sonic stories, fusing organic charms of live instrumentation with cutting-edge music for the dancefloor and presenting this at selected events. This culminated in an extraordinary audio/visual display for broadcast pioneers Cercle, with a unique performance at the carefully selected idyllic location of Falaises d’Etretat, showcasing their captivating live electronics.
On the production front, Mateu has continued to have an exceptional output, with his last release on Mobilee Radian entering the Beatport top ten within three days following release. Another highlight was his full Anjunadeep debut on the eclectic double-cut entitled Phoenix/Amargosa. Alongside this his remixes have also been received with equal merit on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Systematic or Poker Flat. His latest reworking of Eli & Fur on Anjunadeep made it to number three of the Beatport melodic house & techno chart. On Spotify, his music reaches an audience of 500,000 listeners each month and continues to grow every week. Currently Rodriguez Jr. is working on his third album for 2020, meticulously crafting another emotionally moving LP with exemplary skill to follow up the globally supported 2017 album Baobab. All will be unveiled next year, with new music, new show, international tours and more to come.
