This year, The Patchwork Family celebrates its 5th birthday and everyone* is invited for the birthday bash of the decade. Celebrating five years of uncompromising glamour, sexy protests and the hottest young talent, The Patchwork Family brings together the community that has carried it from the beginning for one night of collective excess. The Patchwork Family is a multidisciplinary upcycling collective rooted in Amsterdam’s queer creative scene. Known for turning chaos into beauty and fusing club culture with upcycled couture, the collective creates spaces where fashion becomes a tool for storytelling, protest and celebration. From underground performances to international fashion weeks, their work gives visibility to the margins and remains glamorous, political and always in progress. For this Grand Family Affair, the night kicks off with an energetic Best Of show, a reinterpretation of the most iconic performances and moments from the past five years. Expect a 40 minute rollercoaster of sex, drama and extravaganza brought to life by a new generation of makers alongside familiar faces. What follows, is not just an afterparty but The Grand Family Affair. After the best-off show, the main floor will be taken over DJ’s Europarking, Faggatron, Slimfit and YoungWoman accompanied by the hottest performances. The basement will be turned into an archeological digging site, where visitors can experience The Patchwork Families history through a multimedia installation, accompanied by performances and DJ sets from DJ Safke and Melis Köke. Visitors will have the chance to have their picture taken by The Patchwork Families all time favourite photographer Kees de Klein or get an iconic Family Affair airbrush tattoos.
