Description
Stevie Whisper (Stefan Unkovic) is a Belgrade-based DJ, producer, promoter, and visual artist whose work is closely associated with Serbia’s thriving underground music scene. Guided by the motto “Style: Eclectic. Approach: Punk,” he is known for genre-defying DJ sets that move fluidly between techno, UK bass, electro, industrial, post-punk, wave, and other exploratory sounds.
He is the founder of YES, a party series and independent label that has become one of the cornerstones of the local electronic community through residencies in the city’s iconic venues: Drugstore, 20/44, and Karmakoma. YES is known for adventurous programming, bringing together cutting-edge producers from Serbia and abroad while crafting immersive club experiences that balance energy, experimentation, and musical diversity. Through its events and releases, YES has cultivated a platform for artists and audiences to explore new sounds and push the boundaries of the city’s nightlife.
Whisper has performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, in cities such as Berlin, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Moscow, Kyiv, Vienna, St. Petersburg, Lyon, New York City, Shanghai, and Beijing. His international appearances include Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), The Crave Festival, and Positive Education Festival, alongside performances at Sameheads, Melkweg, Mutabor, Opium Club, Mansions NYC, Dada, and other renowned venues.
Alongside his club and festival performances, he holds a monthly residency on Bristol’s Noods Radio, presenting open-format, genre-fluid mixes that span from techno to psych folk, post-punk to ambient, and beyond.
As a producer, Stefan approaches music with the same curiosity and adventurous spirit that define his DJ sets. His work combines rhythmically compelling grooves with richly layered textures, often blurring the line between dancefloor energy and immersive listening experiences. Releases such as Donkey Milk reflect a fearless curiosity and a continually evolving approach to sound, where ideas, textures, and rhythms are constantly reworked and pushed in new directions.
Hailing from south west Japan and started the career in the end of 90s, currently based in Vietnam and Hong Kong, Taku Hirayama has been active across Asia. Cultivated a profound connection between music, sound and audience through extensive experience in the booth and on the dancefloor. Developed a signature trippy groove, drawing from a wide spectrum of electronic music. His sound flows smoothly and expansively, creating a linear, forward driving energy that transcends genres and alters perceptions of time.
His sets guide the audience into a meditative state while exploring mind bending experiments, immersing them in sound and concluding the night with a compelling narrative. With numerous musical encounters during his tours at esteemed clubs and festivals worldwide, Taku has introduced acclaimed industry figures, like minded artists, and hidden talents through his platform “Junktion” for a past decade.
