ABOV is a FLINTA* collective led by the NYC couple DJ Volvox and Dominga (aka Follakzoid). FLINTA* is an umbrella term representing female, lesbian, inter*, non-binary/enby, trans*, and agender people. ABOV is a safe space created by FLINTA* for FLINTA*, for all the beauties that have ever been harassed, discriminated against or worse just for being themselves. We are very excited to announce TYGAPAW is our headliner bringing a powerful closing set from 3-6am. TYGAPAW (aka Dion McKenzie) has just released a third full-length album on Tresor Records entitled Together You Gather All Power Applied Worldwide. An acronym of its creator’s name, TYGAPAW’s third studio album is a deeply personal collection of music building worlds where Black queer and trans siblings can thrive, while unifying dancefloors worldwide. A proposition that collective wisdom liberates us from the matrix of domination we live within. The album unfolds as the latest chapter in TYGAPAW’s ongoing techno opera opus, continuing to center the voices of Black women, which surface as layered incantations rather than lyrics – powerful, haunting, sensual, activating. Setting the tone for the night we have x3butterfly, a Mexican/American DJ and producer originally from Detroit now busily gracing lineups at top clubs and festivals. Drawing inspiration from early industrial and techno pioneers, x3butterfly’s sets retain a raw and ominous quality, with a club twist. Prioritizing the eclectic, they lead listeners on a genre defying journey while expertly keeping the floor fully locked in. VOLVOX and DOMINGA's near-telepathic intuitive connection has resulted in some of the most bracing techno sets today. Across the globe the name DJ Volvox has become synonymous with surgical mixing technique and a certain square-shooting, take-no-prisoner approach towards dance floor business. Here she joins forces with Sacred Bones artist, model, filmmaker and and globally renowned trans icon, Dominga of the cult band Follakzoid who brings an otherworldly sense of improvisation and encyclopedic music knowledge that reveals the deepest gems from our collective unconscious. Their transportive sets at Whole Festival, Basement or RSO Berlin to name a few have set the stage for a new dimension in techno, one that continues to intrigue with its deep pulsating aliveness. Brooklyn’s favorite DJ duo Sissies of Mercy will do an all night takeover in Room 2 with their unique dark wave attitude to soundtrack all the naughty action in our intimacy area.
