Crawlers have weathered a wild run of giddy victories and foundation-shaking difficulties that could have broken a less devoted band. Instead, Holly, Liv and Amy have come back tighter, more united and more certain of the space they want to create. *“We don’t just want to be a band, we want to be a community,”* says Holly. That sense of community has been central since their early days practising in a shed in Warrington and gigging around Liverpool, through the viral success of “Come Over (Again)”, their 2024 debut album The Mess We Seem To Make, magazine covers, worldwide tours and millions of streams. When they parted ways with their label and had to regroup, their fans became the anchor again. “The fans have always been the centre of everything we do,” says Liv, pointing to the letters and drawings that cover their rehearsal room walls from young people who have found solace in the band’s honesty. That defiant spirit of strength and compassion runs through new EP TURN OFF THE TV, the start of a new era that finds Crawlers stripping things back to their core values while carrying the experience of half a decade inside the industry. “We had to completely rebuild our foundations and realise what made us want to do this to begin with,” says Holly, while Liv adds “everything we have been through has given us permission to be who we are unapologetically”. If The Mess We Seem To Make captured a young band screaming for help in a broken world, this new material faces that world head on. Work began during a transformative songwriting trip in Wales in 2024, where Crawlers started shaping songs that move between darkness and light, despair and salvation, all tied together by an anthemic clarity. For the first time in a long time, the three musicians plugged in and played together in a room, performing TURN OFF THE TV from start to finish like a sweaty live set before recording it. That process gave the EP its urgency and its narrative: living in the current climate, struggling to see light in the dark, and finding a way to fight through it together.
