**John Hollier & The Reverie live at Eddie's Attic!**
John Hollier & The Rêverie live at Eddie's Attic! John Hollier has been experiencing a handful of full-circle moments lately. Originally from Louisiana, the rising singer-songwriter has been relentlessly chasing down not only his unique sound — this searing fusion of rock, soul and alt-country — but also himself in the process. The result is his latest album, Rainmaker, a record showcasing Hollier's live wire talent and artistic purpose.
When it comes to great stage acts, one of the most difficult things to do is take that you-had-to-be-there energy of one's live performance and translate that into the studio setting. And yet, this is where the essence of Rainmaker lies. Instead of hiring session musicians, Hollier took his touring band into the studio and let the tapes roll — the radiating emotion and sonic tones cultivated due to a true comfortability and connectivity between one another. That live wire energy and sonic grit is no more evident than on the single, "Somewhere Down the Road" — a melody that crackles and bursts into a call to the universe for clarity and resolve amid the unknowns of chasing your dreams in real time.
Emerging from rural central Louisiana, Hollier grew up on a crawfish farm in the depths of French-Cajun country. Those roots never left him — cue the formation of John Hollier & The Rêverie, named for the Old French word "rêver," meaning "to dream." With an array of sonic textures, the fiery ensemble weaves effortlessly between rock, soul and indie-folk realms, conjuring comparisons to Bruce Springsteen, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Needtobreathe.
With the release of Rainmaker, Hollier is chomping at the bit to take it straight to the ultimate proving ground that is the live stage — this space John Hollier & The Rêverie inhabit with grace, grit, and gratitude.
"The last thing you want to do is sound like everybody else. When you realize what your strengths are, and then you play to your strengths? That's how you find your sound — that's what we're doing."
Presented by Eddie's Attic.
This is an all ages event.
