Two instruments in dialogue across centuries of music, fluent in classical, rock, pop, and jazz. **Arynn Akridge:** performance artist, aerialist, contortionist, and the rare kind of mover who makes impossible vanish from your vocabulary. **Bio:** EKHO Duo is Shane Borth, violin and Ben Muñoz, cello. The two met back in 2006 while on the teaching staff at Ottawa Suzuki String’s Sound Encounters, a premiere strings workshop. Their similar tastes in music and penchant for performing music outside of strictly classical let them strike up a friendship while they were living in different cities, Shane in Kansas City, MO and Ben in Pittsburg, PA. Every so often they would perform together in Kansas City but finally teamed up in Miami Beach, Florida, while performing together for a one year residency at the Faena Hotel in the Quixotic produced cabaret show, “Samsara.” While there, Shane and Ben began to rehearse and develop a unique sound, combining classical know-how with rock attitude, blending the two styles into something energetic, elegant and modern on ancient instruments.
