Description
Kaiser returns to the venue. An affiliate of Freddy K’s KEY Vinyl and the boss behind his own KSR label, Kaiser has gained notoriety as a maestro of techno in its purest form. His immaculate productions mix raw, gritty sonics with refined details and a dark, spacious elegance. Each moment breathes with pure intention. Ma Haiping makes his debut. The Chinese artist is a force in his home country - he is a genuine trailblazer whose stunning, deep space journeys have found a home on Jeff Mills’ Axis, Soma and other bastions of world-class techno. His album “Chang’e-4” is an evocative dive into inky black space, with a level of focus and craft that is frankly mind blowing. Fans of Detroit techno at its most twisted, or the more menacing corners of Italy’s hypnotic strains will find much to love in Haiping’s catalog. NYC’s Antenes is one of the most appropriate artists to complete this lineup. A true veteran of the techno underground, Antenes has a decades-long history with the city as a producer and DJ. Few in the modern landscape play with the level of care and the sense of integrated history that is the cornerstone of an Antenes set, and her devotion to the radical possibilities of techno radiates through everything she does.
Faustin heads off STUDIO. The CLUB RAUM resident joins from his home base in Rotterdam. But while that city is often associated with some of the hardest techno ever put to wax, Faustin embraces a verdant, sensuous beauty. Bathing his mixes in rainforest-grade reverb and mellow, undulating rhythms, Faustin practically beckons you to the dancefloor from the booth. X-TRA.Services resident and founder LYDO is a kindred spirit. A dyed-in-the-wool sonic explorer and a DJ of enviable flow, LYDO has become something of an underground icon in NY and beyond. If you’ve heard them, you’ll know exactly why. Genre deviant Connor Wrong returns to STUDIO. A maverick artist, Wrong is not afraid to throw a spanner in the works in service of the greater good. Blending everything from psy to italo to electro, their sets bristle with a defiant joy and sense of possibility.
