KAVARI
KAVARI is a British artist, DJ, and clothing designer currently based in Scotland. Renowned for her innovative productions, transgressive art, and live performances that fuse industrial, ambient, club, and noise music.
Her artistic philosophy is rooted in rejecting mainstream electronic music conventions, driven by a commitment to constant reinvention. This defiance challenges the repetition and complacency of the modern music industry. Her approach has gained global attention, cementing her as a key figure in the UK’s electronic underground. Hailed as “The Priestess of the Underground,” her work has earned praise from IDM pioneer Aphex Twin, who called it “some of the most brilliant, most interesting kicking electronic music” to emerge in recent years. Influenced by artists such as Skrillex, Genesis P-Orridge, Lorn, & Arca. KAVARI’s works are marked by the use of abrasive textures with ethereal soundscapes and a focus on emotional expression, often channelling intense feelings into her work. In addition to her solo projects, she has collaborated with various artists, contributing to works by Yeule, REZZ, and Flume.
LUCAS ABELA and DEFEKTRO
Lucas ‘Granpa’ Abela’s (fka Justice Yeldham) performances on their signature instrument; shards of amplified glass are the stuff of legend. Their singular practice spawned from the noise music underground, where over twenty years the glass evolved from a means to create ecstatic free-noise cacophonies into an outsider instrument that produces some kind of organic electronica. Abela vibrates the pane vocally to control a modular patch that uses no traditional syntheses techniques, instead the glass acts as both sound and modulation source. The patch extracting control voltages from the glass’s dynamics and frequency in order to modulate itself in synchronicity with the performance, shaping six parallel stereo effects chains that merge into dense layers of anomalous music.
Defektro originally formed as a sound performance project of Lastgasp Art Laboratories (an "art laboratory" and studio, the manufacture of musical instruments and effects pedals, a record label and organise an experimental music event) in Tokyo, Japan 1996. Characterized by harsh machine produced junk metal sounds, Defektro has performed for 30 years. One of the former members Hirofumi Uchino, is the futuristic mastermind and inventor of the machines invented for Defektro. The sound is produced by the machines, rare element metal sheets, noise instruments and sonic weapons then sampled, effectively chewed up and spat out for the pleasure of the audience. Over 40 titled recordings have been released from various record labels around the world. Internationally Defektro has toured the United States, Australia, Europe and Japan, and continues to perform domestically.
ALICE4EVER
Alice 4Ever is an Australian producer and DJ known for her hard-hitting, genre-bending sound design focused work focusing on Dubstep, IDM, Trap, Hardcore, Noise, and glitchy beats. Influenced by distorted sonics, rave culture, and artists like SOPHIE, Arca, The Prodigy, and EPROM, she’s been producing since a young age, crafting music that’s both chaotic and precise.
She’s collaborated with fellow musicians Kavari, Blood of Aza, Alparr, and yage, and has headlined for New Zealand Collective Nympho.World and opened for acts like Ninajirachi, umru, and MGNA Crrrta—delivering high-energy sets that push boundaries and challenge expectations.
SCARIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD
Mia Kanda-Franklin is an experimental sound artist based on Gadigal land. Evolving from a background of lifelong classical musical training, she has since turned her attention to the unwanted and unexpected sounds of experimental and electronic music. Her performances as scariestgirlintheworld use live feedback and found sound alongside samples and her original productions to deliver gritty, meditative, and visceral soundscapes. Recent performances include live experimental feedback works for FOG (formerly Finance Team) supporting YTEM and ABSORB supporting r hunter. Other work includes supporting Marcus Whale and S280F, while also producing visual and installation work with collective Offering.
COMORBID
Comorbid creates an effigy to the suffering of those trapped within the societal misunderstandings of mental illness, those vulnerable to medical malpractice and the spiritual experience of health through gothic, experimental textures, harsh vocals and staggered rhythms.
JLL0MLL0
Hailing from South-West Sydney, JLL0MLL0 unleashes pure havoc and mayhem in the guise of multi-textural, experimental beats and rhythms.
We acknowledge that this event is held on the stolen lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to Elders, past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
