Description
**Song Cycles ATL live at Eddie's Attic!**
Song Cycles is a songwriter's showcase held at Eddie’s Attic, highlighting songwriters from the Atlanta area. Each songwriter performs songs from their own catalogue, as well as composes one new original song for each performance. The original songs are prompted by a unique, collective theme for each showcase, connecting them to one another other. Therefore, we will be, in real time, creating a "Song Cycle" together. Our hope is to encourage our community of songwriters to write, connect, and enrich each other, as well as nurture an audience appreciation of songwriting itself.

***Laurie Ray*** co-founded Equal Creatures in 2021 and since its founding the band has become a beloved staple of the indie and alternative DIY scene. They are a triple Gemini, an Atlanta Native, and has been songwriting since 2012. Their songwriting is a mixture of Americana/singer-songwriter lyrical craft, grunge grit, and confessional emo catharsis.

***Nikki Speake*** is an Atlanta-based songwriter and frontwoman of Nikki & the Phantom Callers. Raised in Alabama and now rooted in Georgia, her songs explore love, loss, and family with a little Southern flair.

***Seth Brown*** has been writing songs for nearly 20 years. Since his teens playing and singing with his brother and sister to his most recent project, Atlanta based psych-folk outfit Knelt, he's crafted songs in a variety of styles and sounds. His songwriting process is ever evolving, but deeply rooted in his love for music as a means of human connection. He explores abstract topics in his lyrics, often drawing inspiration from dreams, while grounding himself and the listener with observations about nature and time. He draws inspiration from songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Jeff Tweedy, Adrianne Lenker and Jackson Browne.

***Jordan Reynolds*** is a musician and songwriter, primarily releasing works under the moniker Rose Hotel since 2016. Reynolds' writing explores interpersonal relationships, femininity, responsibility, and existentialism. Drawing inspiration from the greats like Bonnie Raitt and Joni Mitchell, modern giants like Angel Olsen and Jessica Pratt, all the while flirting with psychedelia and the bizarre, Reynolds' pen resembles a familiar figure disappearing around the corner, beckoning for you to follow, with a voice that sounds like a memory.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., ***Huey's*** songwriting is rooted in southern folk music. Since playing in various groups for the past 8 years, most notably her own full band "Huey & The Heaven-sent", she's always called the ATL music scene home. Huey brings some diversity to what people perceive southern music to be; developing songs from the natural rhythm of life, she blends heart-clenching lyrics with folk, sometimes jazz melodies. Her songwriting focuses on sincerity self, authentically reporting these common experiences, emotions and intimacies. Today, she marks her greatest inspirations in writing to be acts like Nick Drake, S.G. Goodman, and (if we're talkin' Southern folk-rock), the Indigo Girls.
Presented by Eddie's Attic.
This is an all ages event.
