Cult New York independent film screening series Ditcher’s Eddy celebrates 2 YEARS of short form cinema with a hybrid watch/dance party at Nowadays. The night marks their 20th screening and largest production yet. They’re bringing 2 hours of expertly curated shorts by local directors and filmmakers, across the spectrum of genres tastes and styles, followed by a club night of equally exhilarating B2B’s. Once the curtains close, Bergsonist & Contractor warm the dance floor up. Their shared interest in moody, deep, psychedelic melodies and body rattling bass-lines are sure to get even the sorest legs up and moving. Expect everything from Depeche Mode remixes to the deepest, dustiest acid house cuts. As we get deeper into the night, Mole and DJ Relax take the reins. The duo brings a deep bag of humid dubs and slippery house for both of their Nowadays debuts. Bringing the night to an end is DJ Healthy & Tiny T-Bone. Local legends in many senses, and as familiar with the Nowadays floor and system as a new duo could be, the two team up for the first time to deliver a precise assemblage of crisply textured, rolling, nuanced and subtly evolving tunes. Come for the movies and the community, stick around and bust it down for the music. /// Entry is at the discretion of our door staff. Online purchases are limited to four tickets maximum per person. If tickets are sold out here, we always hold a good amount at the door. We will do our best to admit those without tickets but entrance is not guaranteed. During parties the driveway gate is locked, so please ask staff at the street entrance for assistance with entry. All of our bathrooms are gender-neutral. There is one accessible stall indoors. Just ask any Nowadays staff member for the key, and they can show you the way. During parties, seating is available both on and off the dance floor. While we don’t have a dedicated quiet space indoors during parties, the booths next to coat check are a little quieter, and the deck and back yard a little quieter than that. Most nighttime parties include the use of strobe lights and water based haze.
