HAZTET Warrane/Sydney, based spiritual jazz / improvised groove collective HAZTET explore a cosmic vastitude of dense sonic realms, guided continuously by the rich, bountiful osmosis of improvised collaborative experimentation. Profoundly inspired by the music of luminaries Mulatu Astatke, Pharoah Sanders, Joe Henderson and John Coltrane as well as oz legends Barney McAll, Julien Wilson, Close Counters and 30/70, audiences can expect vibrant jazz harmony, percussion driven Afro-infused dance grooves and layered ambient SFX soundscapes. HAZTET have amalgamated a notable record of live performances since their inception in Oct 2022. Alongside prestigious Australian jazz acts such as GODTET, The Strides, Manfredo Lament, The Glider, Ella Haber and Ruby Jackson amongst others. The collective have strongly established themselves as valued contributors to the fast expanding Eora nation / inner west underground ‘JAZZ DOOF’ culture.
