The song writing is honest, confessional, raw, and instantly relatable. Blending the sounds of Country, Folk, Blues, and Soul, The Distant South channel tales of the human condition into captivating performances that are both melancholic and uplifting. With two EPs and a full-length album already behind them, The Distant South spent 2025 performing, writing and recording. On the 22nd of August, The Distant South’s sophomore Album - “Map of My Life” will be launched to the world in what is bound to be a joyous occasion at The Brunswick Ballroom. This new record offers a notable progression in songwriting, style and musical performance, introducing elements of Blues, Soul and Rock - whilst still remaining undeniably Country Music. Recorded at Rolling Stock Recording Rooms by Myles Mumford and mastered by Rick O’Neil - this album includes guest performances from Kylie Auldist, Gretta Ziller, Tim Neal, Ben Franz and Jack Meredith. To ensure the night is one not to forget, very special guests The Pleasures will be opening the night. Fronted by Catherine Britt and Lachlan Bryan, The Pleasures have quickly become one of the most talked-about new acts in the country. The sound is gritty and blues-inspired, and the subject matter ranges from bold and bawdy to heartfelt and insightful.
