ANNĒ returns. The Greek powerhouse is at the top of her game right now, driving home one mercurial, muscular techno banger after another. This year sees the release of “Symbiosis III,” the third edition of her long-running collaboration with Sera J. Across her three transmissions, ANNĒ crafts a betwitching spell. Equal parts mesmerizing and rollicking, she finds a sweet spot between delicate awe and thundering intensity. She’s joined by Norway’s Kameliia, making her debut in the room. Kameliia’s original productions on esteemed hubs like SK_Eleven, AMOTIK and WSNWG (in collaboration with Rødhåd) unfurl with the unhurried hypnotic undulations of incense smoke curling in the air. She has described her style as “mental techno,” and while there is a cerebral quality, Kameliia's music is just as physical as anything else out there. Liza Rivs also makes her debut. The Georgian-born artist has a growing body of work that dredges the depths of distortion, finding gooey sweet spots and uncannily organic grooves within the murk.
x3butterfly headlines STUDIO. One of the key artists to have emerged in the US underground in the last half decade, x3butterfly’s omnivorous approach touches on seemingly every facet of dance music history. But they aren’t just an avid digger, x3 is a riveting performer and an emerging figurehead for a new generation of ravers. The same could be said for Dee Diggs, an artist who is infusing classic house with fresh vitality. Anyone can play the classics, but Diggs is a classic unto herself. As her bio says, she is “da 1 & only,” an artist who wins new converts every time she plays. Diggs has distinguished herself over the last few years, playing more and more across the globe, and has become an exemplary ambassador for Black music and expression. Following his STUDIO debut last October, SPRFRK steps back in the booth to complete the lineup. The Miami-born, NY-based artist brings a dose of his hometown, with a steamy, seductive energy. SPRFRK has become a staple of the queer raving underground in NYC, and it’s not hard to see why. His sets overflow with sensuality and pure club energy.
