Description
**Nabil Ayers** brings his acclaimed podcast *Identified* to Public Records for an evening of live conversation. The show, which examines family, race, culture, and identity, will record two individual episodes featuring **Allison Russell** and **Valerie June**. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the first conversation beginning at 6:30 PM. Please note that this event is a podcast taping and will not include live musical performances. Tickets go on sale Friday February 13 at 10:00 AM ET.
Allison Russell
Montreal-born and Nashville-based, Allison Russell is a Grammy, Juno, Americana, and Folk Award–winning artist, as well as an actor, author, songwriter, producer, human rights advocate, survivor, and mother. She is co-founder of Once and Future Sounds and Love Rising. Her debut solo album Outside Child was released in 2021, followed by The Returner in 2023 via Concord/Fantasy Records. Prior to her solo career, Russell co-founded and toured internationally with the bands Po’Girl, Birds of Chicago, and Our Native Daughters, and she is a member of Joni Mitchell’s Joni Jam band. Her ensemble the Rainbow Coalition opened for Hozier’s Unreal Unearth tour throughout 2024, and the All Returners headlining tour continues in spring 2025 in Australia and North America. Russell made her Broadway debut starring as Persephone in Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown from November 2024 to February 2025. Her memoir will be published by Little, Brown, release date forthcoming.
Valerie June
Valerie June is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and three-time Americana Music Honors & Awards nominee whose work moves fluidly across folk, soul, blues, country, and orchestral pop. Her fourth studio album, Owls, Omens, and Oracles, continues a remarkable body of work that began with Pushin’ Against A Stone \[2013\] and has evolved through The Order of Time, The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers, and Under Cover. June has opened for The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park and has toured with artists including Tyler Childers, Brandi Carlile, Gary Clark Jr., Trevor Hall, and John Prine.
