w/ High Glow
Throwing Muses released their new album ‘Moonlight Concessions’ in 2025 via Fire Records. The album follows their acclaimed ‘Sun Racket’ from 2020, a heady set filled with tough and tender tales spiked with surreal imagery. ‘Moonlight Concessions’ goes back to basics, a return for Throwing Muses to their esoteric off-kilter best courtesy of Kristin Hersh’s pin-sharp sketches and their suitably abrasive musical arrangements, a collection of snippets from everyday life writ large - think Raymond Carver Short Cuts, overheard conversations, recounted happenings and telling one-liners, all sewed together to illustrate the times as they slowly mature, fully peppered with original Muses’ vim and vigour. Following a string of packed shows across Europe in Spring and Summer 2025, These shows are Throwing Muses' first U.S. appearances in over a decade.
With nearly 40 years of Muses-history behind her, Kristin Hersh continues to be one of the most compelling voices in American rock — a fiercely original songwriter and a magnetic live performer.
High Glow:
Shining through a tidal wave of darkness and uncertainty, High Glow drifts between a euphoric daydream and an acid flashback. Known for their fuzzed-out guitar tones, driving rhythms, and thunderous beats layered beneath shimmering, bleached-out vocals. Their signature style affectionately dubbed, “Sludge-Gaze” evokes the early ’90s while weaving in nostalgic threads of grunge, post-punk, sludge, and shoegaze. It’s grunge with a cherry on top.
High Glow’s lineup features Tyler Rachal (Risley, Hollow Giant) on lead vocals and guitar, Andrea Tragesser (Apathy's Last Kiss, Trojan Hearse) on vocals and bass, Daniel Pouliot (Horse the Band, Ancestors) on guitar and vocals, and Zak Andree (Hollow Giant, Killer Canary) on drums. Together, the group has crafted a distinctive sound that blends genres seamlessly, pairing catchy melodies with raw, heartfelt emotion.
Their debut album, “Unlikely Futures,” was released on May 30th, 2025. Recorded at The Hallowed Halls with chief engineer Justin Phelps (Cake, Amanda Palmer, Mars Volta), the record was mixed by Gabe Van (Failure, M83, Youth Code) and mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph (Elliott Smith, Y La Bamba, Pelican). Since its release, High Glow has been actively performing throughout the Pacific Northwest, continuing to build momentum and connect with new audiences.
